Despite the tracking position not being recorded in a lot of those shots, the focus point is mostly on the eye (or where the eye was in the previous frame) and every shot has the eye in focus. ...

Yes, I've seen that before and I'm not impressed with his results or his conclusions. I don't know where he got some of that stuff. AF-C uses cdaf beyond f/9?!? AF-C works brilliantly down to f/16 ...

They did. But I find it quite good and don't notice any lagging of AF on the A9II with it either. But different folks can have different experiences.

Thanks, I hadn't seen his tests. However, it is a strange comparison. Looking at both images at 100% where the Sony A7RIV is 61mp and the Olympus 20mp, and consequently the Sony 83% larger and ...

If you are going to be using relatively short focal length lenses, and it sounds like you are, then Sony's f/1.8 range of lenses are great. The 50mm only weighs 185g too. My 50mm only cost me £129 ...

Have you seen any comparable review tests? I would be interested to see but I haven't managed to find any. Having owned both, I couldn't detect any difference in sharpness although that's not easy ...

So an authoritative yes it does to go with the authoritative no it doesn’t at the top of this thread. Situation normal! ;-)

I know but you said "C-AF sensitivity -2 tries a bit but more often switches to another subject". I think you mean less often. At least, that's what the words under the footballer say to me. i.e. ...
-
Yes, that would make sense.
-
I think you'll find that's the other way around on the last two! :-)
-
Maybe, maybe not. If true, most people would be happy with a setting of -2. i.e. stick with the existing subject. But there are persistent suggestions that C-AF Sesitivity also affects how rapidly ...
-
C-AF sensitivity is one of those almost useless settings. There is very little understanding of how it actually works and what it actually does and, as a consequence, what the best setting is. Add ...

Does it make any difference in any mode! ;-) :-P

You can lead a horse to water... Funny how lots of people who've watched the video recommend it to someone asking for advice but it's criticised by someone who hasn't. Whatever.:-|
-
I think that without watching the video, it might be a bit premature to say that. There are a lot of subtleties that need to be appreciated to get the best out of the camera and lens. For example, ...

My guess is the fox was put there as bait to bring the raptors in. The question that went through my mind was, was it killed for that purpose? Or was it roadkill?

I sort of see your point. However, if 8k is 7680 x 4320, the diagonal/diameter in pixel units would be 8812. A 4:3 rectangle fitting that diameter would 7050 x 5287 (I think!). So now you have a ...

I think, for a sensor to have a 4/3 aspect ratio and for it to record 8K video, it would have to be at least 44MP.
