I'd recommend looking between the Fujifilm X100V and the Sony A7C with a compact lens like of the small f/2.8 lenses from Samyang/Rokinon

I love Sony and would generally recommend the E-mount system over the X-mount one, but just based on these two cameras, I'd definitely choose the X-S10 over the A7II. There's literally almost 6 ...

I loved the D600/D610 and it's like $400-500USD used nowadays (based on our local Canadian classifieds). The D750 is even better but costs a lot more.

Here are a few opinions/beliefs/generalizations that I have that might help: (1) Mirrorless cameras are the future and DSLRs are going to continue getting less and less support

Would 24mm be wide enough though. Personally, I find if 28mm is not wide enough, usually, 24mm won't be either. Generally for me, if I need wider than 28mm, I need wider than 20mm. What's your ...

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean.

You don't find Fujifilm and Sony offer good APS-C bodies?

At the right price, anything can be worth it. If you're looking at paying full retail though, I'd definitely recommend a used A7RII over that. Better sensor and AF (amongst other things).

If by size you mean grip, yea, Sony seems to have decided to sacrifice the grip to get a smaller body. There can be many reasons to switch to Nikon but IMO dynamic range and autofocus are not ...

In terms of that specific combo for all-purpose photography, I'd go with Nikon. That being said, I prefer Canon's system (and Sony's) as a whole.

Thanks both of you for the clarification!

Sony with its 'doomed tiny E-mount' (sarcastic) has developed a 12-24mm f/2.8 and Sigma developed a 35mm f/1.2 for it too. Both of these have amazing optics. Do you see yourself ever needing wider ...

So I'm confused. Someone said Canon needs to license their mount to third-party manufacturers or else the third-party manufacturers would be breaking copyright/patent laws. But someone else says ...

This is why I buy used. For lenses, I can often sell them for the same price I paid for them, so in that way, they easily pay themselves off.

I love the E-mount ecosystem and that's definitely one of Sony's biggest advantages. That being said, it seems very possible that Tamron will release their lenses for the R-mount. Right now, if I ...

I thought I'd miss the 24-28mm but I really didn't. The cost, size, and weight savings to me far outweigh that extra reach on the wide end. The fact that the rings turn the 'right' way is a huge ...

The A7SIII is the standout low-light video machine that can also work as a stills camera. A 35mm f/1.4 could be a good pair to go with it. Personally, I think having tripod shots combined with ...

He said he wants more megapixels for cropping. He also said he likes the dual card slots and the AF from the R isn't as good as the current offerings.

I do agree that if one is able to get the AF point to the right part of the frame and on the right part of the subject, AF-S with single point AF is usually faster on the best DSLRs. That being ...
