Manual focusing a f/1 lens. That's going to be spicy...

1. I wasn't talking about the 16-55 f/2.8 (which is excellent, but bloody massive). I was talking about the XC 16-50 f/3.5-5.6 OIS II, which is middling at best. On an unrelated note, I would love ...

It's true that Fuji seems to be appealing to primarily short, prime shooters, but you can only defend that niche so long with all the E-mount small primes. I agree that they definitely have holes ...

Not just museums/cathedrals. Several popular outdoor locations in Japan also ban tripods because of how they inconvenience people. If you want a longish exposure (of saying, flowing water in a ...

Both Pentax and Olympus use IBIS for their astrotracking AF. You are right in that once you get deep into astrophotography you're going to be using equatorial mount for super long exposures.
-
They already firesaled all the cameras here (Ancaster, Ontario).

You got it Gary. Our photo centre always has line-ups to the door, but people are usually getting passport photos or picking up prints that I'd estimate were about ~$50. In the same space as the...

Henry's is baaarely standing. They are closing half of their stores. It's grim times for Photography in Canada.

@AntonJA Not only are most of the processing labs gone, but the specialty chains are not "essential services", so they can't even open their doors during lockdown!

It depends on what you shoot, but IBIS is beneficial for: -Travel without a tripod (several places ban them or they are impractical) -Landscape -Night cityscapes (light painting, composites, etc.) ...

I'm curious to see how it handles the Nikon PF lenses, as this is a gaping hole in the Fuji line-up.

Precisely. Is it the chicken or egg?

This hurts. We would always do a run of prints when my in-laws visited and Costco was super quick and affordable with reasonable quality.

Sigh. I guess Fuji will continue to be relegated to documentary/street shooting only for me. Maybe Fuji thinks there just isn't enough money in wildlife/street shooters? To be fair, it's hard ...

Careful what you wish for miggy. You might end up with the 10-24 f/4 II...

Richard, m4/3 is great (I use it for wildlife), but the size advantage is gone in the wide and normal focal lengths. Samyang and Tamron have released compact, high-quality and small aperture lenses...

Yeah, the E-M1 III was clearly a farewell love letter. It was "let's stuff the best of what we have (save for the A.I. AF) into one body and make it as durable and pleasant to use as possible".
-
Thanks! The highlights are a little blown out though. I'm not used to metering on the E-M1 III yet and should've exposure bracketed.

I haven't had the opportunity to do much portraiture thanks to COVID-19. I'm finding not so many differences for birds in trees, birds in flight and the photographing the pupper.

I'm pretty much exclusively a prime shooter on street/day-to-day and increasingly, even in wildlife. The 200 f/2.8 almost permanently has the 1.4x TC on when I go birding, though I do keep the ...
