It looks exactly like the old ZA lens because that is an image of the old ZA lens! The new one looks more like the 24 GM.

Read my later posts in the thread. https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/63963685 TLDR; No way near as big difference in other tests. First test was very unfortunate. A clear filter I used on the ...

I own the Tamron 28-200 and have previously owned the Tamron 28-75 and Sony 24-105, 70-200 F4 and 70-300. For sharpness the 28-200 and 28-75 are pretty much equal in their shared focal lengths, ...

I did that switch a couple of years ago, went from a a6500 to a used a7r2 which I got a good deal on. Ended up not costing much more than what I got when selling the 6500. I was mostly focused on ...

Just a note that when using continuous shooting it will use 12-bit color depth, instead of 14-bit which is used for single shot mode. So the files will be smaller, and times will be different.

There is only one mount, but lenses can be designed for full frame or APS-C. All E-mount lenses can be used on APS-C cameras. All lenses can also be used on full frame cameras, but lenses designed ...

Yes, of course :-) The camera doesn't know if you're focusing or not (it's without contacts remember), so it will stay magnified until you turn the magnification off again or press the shutter (I ...

Even without electronic contacts you will still have focus peaking and magnification. So manual focus is no harder than on a lens with contacts. Although you will have to switch to magnified view ...

I just noticed the same problem with my camera (an a7R3). It used to have the correct file dates, but now it shows one month into the future. I haven't found a solution yet, the date is correct in ...

Ah, sorry, I misunderstood and thought you were arguing that Sigma's lenses for Sony were just direct ports of DSLR lenses. But I see now that you argue that they have at some point made a lens ...

So where are the Sigma 35 F1.2 A or 45 F2.8 C for Cannon/Nikon? Almost all the recent lenses from Sigma have been for Sony E and L mount. Of course some of the focal lengths have been covered for ...
-
Actually, the only recent G prime lens, the 20mm F1.8 G, does have an aperture ring. But Sony's zoom lenses have never had aperture rings, not even GM zooms.
-
Based purely on equivalence, a APS-C 15mm F2.8 is very close to equivalent to a 24mm F4 on full frame, so there should be no major difference. The bigger sensor on full frame makes up for the ...

But it's also at F5.6 at the long end, and F2.8 at the short end. I'm sure the 28mm end will improve if it is at F5.6 too. Still might indicate it's a superzoom which actually has decent long end ...

But you didn't include those other buildings in the TS picture, so you're not comparing like to like! And neither are those buildings included in the final perspective corrected photo, they are ...

Look at the first picture quoted above. There is a lot of blue sky which you just cropped away in the second picture (when you also did the perspective correction). Clearly you could have leveled ...

After the flawed first comparison of the 20mm G and 16-35 GM, I have tried to reproduce the bad results to see what may be the cause. I've made numerous comparisons, trying to recreate the same ...

I agree the first comparison was flawed, and I apologize for that. If I could I would delete that part as it does not show the true performance of the 16-35 GM. But it's impossible to edit or ...

While it's subjective, I think the general consensus is that Loxia and Voigtlander lenses have the best sunstars. I didn't have any good sunstar photos myself, but here is one from DPReview which ...
