taktak91: Taking a Leica in a street may not be intelligent, even if it's a Panny.

Seriously, it's just a camera to a random thief on the street looking for an opportunity. They don't get up thinking..."ah this is the day I go searching for the little red dot!" LOL

On article Fujifilm X-E4 hands-on (178 comments in total)
In reply to:

Raist3d: @Richard Butler- on X-S10 comparisons- the X-E4 has something the X-S10 doesn't have that really helps with street photos and that's a TILT LCD, not a fully articulated one.

To me this distinction alone is enough to root for the X-E4 for that kind of work- as much as I see nice value and nice grip on that X-S10.

Are you sure?

Maybe, and everyone it free to do what works best for them but I think that technique is mostly used by those too timid to make photos in public.

charliedid: People really have a love affair with lens hoods. I barely use them.

My pics have the right amount of flare and range, dynamic or otherwise. Hoods schmoods.

entoman: "Artist Statement: 'The fire within' is a story about emotions penetrating physical structure and setting blood vessels aflame. It is about adaptation to one’s self and the new habitat. The flame is a metaphor of purification and rebirth, and ascendance to one’s true self"

Yeah, very convincing..... 😒

entoman I was commenting on janist74 and the conclusion that it "has no story" so therefore it's not serving its purpose.

You and I are mostly in agreement except that in many cases I can enjoy a PJ shot outside the context of a news story without said text. That said one photographers drivel is another's Artist Statement and all that...

Photographs don't tell stories, people do.
