Should be maximum USD $800 Sony and Nikon have similar macro lenses but F/2.8 an designed for FF at $1000...$1100.

For close-ups, 75-300mm or 100-400mm will work too. For real macro, the best option until now was 60mm. And now 90mm is coming. Depending of the price, I will decide if I buy 90mm or 60mm.
-
The good news is that the 90mm macro will be launched in the next 2-3 months. So just in timp for the new season in the northern hemisphere. There is a lot of enthusiasm related to this lens in...

Scroll down on this link, and you will find E-M1 MK II 3.7 update. You click on it and find out the info, but the firmware is only for the 90mm...

I am not sure if it can be easily replicated to look the same. What about video ? Finnaly many things can be replicated (ex: cloning background) or even build a photo from scratch (AI creation). ...

Nissi 9mm F/2.8 it is also a very good option. It renders sunstars starting with F/2.8.

Then why you don't buy directly Voigtlander Nokton 60mm f/0.95 ? It is heavy but your combo has the same weight, then it has manual focus but I guess your combo will also don't focus very well. The ...

Thank you for posting ! Interesting to see the samples with sunstars. From what I see, probably 8-25mm is the best m4/3 zoom for sunstars.

Thanks for the tip ! It worked. The name of the microsoft app was "Raw Image Extension".

Actually 300mm F/4.0 is resolution orientated, probably the sharpest tele lens ever made by Olympus. (So not a smooth-background optimized lens). Harsh background comes out just accidentally, but ...

This is not working for eveyone, depends on windows version. For me it worked when I used Windows 8, then Windows 10 did not worked anymore. And OM-1 raws were most dificult to display. I had to ...

The equivalence you described is just 50% true. For the focus system, a 300mm F/4.0 lens will provide 1.3 stops more light than a F/6.3 lens. This is a big difference which will have a serious ...

I have OM-1 and use it for wildlife. It's a huge step forward compared to any previous m4/3 camera. Photos wich I could not get easy or which I could not get at all with the previous camera (E-M1 ...

Unfortunately they don't update old versions with new camera profiles. So you have to upgrade to a newer DXO Lab version (ex. DXO Lab 6) which supports OM-1.

But S5 II uses the full senzor for 4K 30p and 6k 30p. There are many people for which 30p is enough. Your comment was very balanced, sorry if I was too harsh. Yes, X-H2 is an option too.
-
@DrewRick X-H2 is not a FF camera. There are even phones which can do 8K video.
-
Most of the cameras don't do 8K. The other competitors offer 8K video just on a few FF bodies, but not in this price/class range. By example, you can get an 8K video camera from Nikon only if you...

@MILC man My gear list is not updated. I have OM-1 now + 300mm. OM-1 was a huge step forward for me in wildlife photography. Agree, Sony 200-600mm has 0.66 stops advantage for DOF and equiv....

@Milcman You said about Olympus 300mm F/4.0 - "that's an f/8 lens on ff". So can I compare it then to an F/8.0 FF lens ? Or not ? Or did I got you wrong ? @ ProfHankD When it is really dark, I...
-
@ProfHankD A software like DXO Lab 6 will provide clean m4/3 images up to ISO-6400 or even more. So the idea that only FF can do low light is a bit outdated. Not only OM-1, but any recent Olympus...
