Were you able to apply the upgrade?

Lightroom had an update come out the same day that could open these files. That is why I assumed other tools would support them. I find this all a bit confusing. I didn't know " small raw" wasn't a ...

I occasionally experience something similar with my 100-400 and A1, but no other lenses. I think this more of a lens thing than a camera thing.
-
Probably oblivious to the folks that understand image file technicalities, but when Sony says they have smaller raw files I assume they are raw files. Lesson learned.
-
The same thing happened to me. When I had no other options, I removed/inserted the battery and started the system, and it was fine. I then re-applied the update and haven't had an issue. Roger

I am a big fan of FastRawViewer for culling images before loading them into LR, as it shows you the raw file and not the embedded JPG. I knew they wouldn't have support for the smaller formats ...

I'll be interested in what you find out. When I try to recreate this on my A1, the "DOF preview" effect happens when I press the AF-ON button, and doesn't appear to change when I half press the ...

I'm curious about this behavior. If you're using BBF with the AF-ON button, and you have AF w/shutter turned off, why would it be stopping down when you press the shutter? Maybe I'm missing ...

I have the 100-400 and was contemplating adding the 200-600. After reading your post, I'll stick with just the 100-400. You saved me $2000!

I buy local when I can (San Jose Camera and Best Buy) since they usually have the same Sony prices as online locations and I want to see local shops hang on. If I have to get something online, I ...

Here is my very unscientific correlation of posts vs a user's satisfaction with their camera: I can usually predict the number of posts for a user by the title alone. The OP is not alone. It is ...

You two were absolutely right. I was playing with the setting a week or so ago and forgot I had it on. Is there an emoji for when you feel like an idiot? P.S. Now I know where the APS-C icon is on ...

OK, I'm going to look like a moron here, but I don't understand the differences in file sizes between two Sony cameras. I have two pictures, taken minutes apart: A7Riii: Compressed, 43,831 KB A1, ...

I don't do video, so the A9 has been great. For BIF, the black-out free shooting with the A9 is awesome. It makes tracking birds a lot easier when the screen isn't blinking. I don't believe the ...

Can't you go into the Custom Button configuration and disable the dial? Roger

I assume this is not the issue if it is gloomy there, but have you set the minimum ISO to 100 in the auto iso settings?

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. It has to do with the variable shutter setting, which seems somehow related to the anti-flicker setting but also operates independently when the ...

Question about A1 setup and what it means to use custom button settings and program your front dial to Shutter Speed(step). When I select this the dial didn't appear to do anything, and I get a ...

I don't know if the A9ii supports this, but on the A1 you can program a custom button to turn on tracking and focus on for the current focus area. The steps I use are to limit the focus options to ...

I used his A9 setup, but I think he had a similar setup video for A1. He sets the AF-On button for BIF, and AEL button for birds not in flight. His focus settings have worked well for me. Roger
