Who gives money to these things?

I wonder if it has autofocus and takes still pictures. (sarcasm)

Both had 1.15 on them. The one that failed had a firmware (1.15) installed by Nikon. The two step did not apply to 1.15.

The D500 is a relatively new D500. Never needed a firmware update. Purchased as a backup and rarely used. Had been repaired by Nikon after it stopped turning off. New firmware update starts but never shows any progress. First D500 took less than two minutes. After more than 20 minutes on the second D500 update, I gave up.

Elaborate? The camera is now a brick. The last time their firmware bricked a camera they said I would have to send it in for repair. $300. The camera is now in storage for good.

Imager of: Already a perfect camera without update. Thank you
Nikon.

Perfect? Hardly. They charged me $600 to fix their problem. Two D500 cameras with the same problem.

Finally after two years and charging me $600 they admit to the problem with not turning off?

Polacofede: any relatively low shutter speed to show a bit the ibis performance?

It had not occurred to me that Nikon would be dumb enough to manufacture cameras without firmware loaded. But Nikon is nuts so it makes sense. What a pain, having to load firmware manually rather than automating it. How would you automate loading firmware after the cpu was in the camera?

The camera is in production. Why not production images?

Doug Frost: I'll wait for the gallery from the production camera. This gallery is awful. Blown highlights. Washed out color. No pop. My phone takes better looking photos.

This camera is in production. They're making them. Why pre-production images?

I had a lexar 64 fail in a Nikon d500. The lexar was brand new. Nikon z6and z7 are worthless to me.

Good thing Picasso never read rules of photography. Painters do what they want but photographers have to follow rules?

Good grief. All the stupid posts this generated. The police had to come out in force. This could have been terrorists. A suicide. How were they supposed to respond? If they had blown up a part of the bridge idiots would have been saying "why didn't the police respond to the alarms?". So yes, these idiots shut down a bridge and endagered some responders. I hope they rot in jail to convince other idiots to stop this kind of lunacy.

It was a lousy offer. Why wasn't it extended? Free publicity? The whole thing sucked.

Nikon T500? Is that the P500? It says P500 on the top of the camera.
