Yes, compared it side by side with the PL8-18, markedly inferior at 8mm so returned it, the extra reach not being so important to me.

New price for Pen-F in 2016 £999 - MPB price now £839 sell, £545 buy (exc. cond.) and they're much smaller ££ now. Some investment !

With the OM-1 (I have no knowledge of other dual card cameras) if you format the cards in camera it gives both the same volume name - "OM SYSTEM". This is dumb, they could easily have appended ...

I was referring to the particular set-up proposed by Vince C, and having dig at the Belt and Braces brigade. Obviously I was not obvious enough.
-
The point was that the card reader is another point of failure. The particular card reader proposed here is a very cheap, possibly unreliable device - mine failed after 30min of use.
-
Nothing wrong with your settings. That's how it is, same on mine.
-
I bought a similar reader from Amazon recently, looks identical but has USB C at the phone end. It lasted 30 minutes until it died so make sure you test yours thoroughly before your trip. Perhaps ...

I got the same when I tried to update my OM-1 from 1.4 to 1.5 I overcame it by using the old stand-alone Olympus Updater program. The latest version of OM Workspace 2.2.1 gives the reason for the ...

Doesn't work. Formatting cards >32GB uses ExFat. Camera doesn't like FAT32 for cards >32GB. Phone doesn't like ExFat .I thought I made this clear in my original post

Read my post - The destination drive can of course be formatted to FAT32 but if the SD card is formatted to FAT32 on the PC then OM-1 complains - "Card Error!".
-
My phone (Android 11) has the OTG facility but will only access volumes formatted to FAT32. Cards >32GB formatted by SD Format on the PC or in camera (OM-1) are formatted as ExFAT. The destination ...

WD Wireless SSD was discontinued a while back, Gnarbox was similar, also discontinued but there are still a few new ones around, pricey though.

Why repeat the whole post just to say "Nice review"? "Daft I call it" to quote Ernie's dad.
-
Definitely? How do you know? RAW viewers that I have which work perfectly on Olympus ORFs cannot even extract the thumbnail from OM-1 ORFs. My copy of PSE complains that there is data in the JPGs ...

Drag and drop is not a Graphical Interface.

Yes. Try it for yourself.

The point of this thread relates to the OM-1. Olympus ORF/JPG files are no problem.
-
I've already tried Exif Pilot. It doesn't work. It doesn't display the full EXIF. It doesn't display the Maker's Notes. It doesn't even extract the thumbnail from an OM-1 ORF file correctly.

Yes, that is the way I have used it but, as you say, it would be nice to have a GUI. I shall have to write a script to batch process multiple files. I believe one of the Exiftool options enables ...
