Other Rokinon's were designed for larger formats and were a bit big for the m4/3 but at least were very inexpensive. What does a lens like this have that a cheaper, more compact 20mm lens that native to m4/3 isn't going to have?

They do it so nobody can complain and claim they are photo racists...:)

The grip is cut short WITHOUT reducing the camera bulk; viewfinder is on the wrong side too: off-center but WITHOUT providing any additional nose-to-LCD relief.

Was it designed this way just for the sake of being different?
