ecka84: If Canon decide to use the existing EF-M mount, they would need to make some new native FF EF-M lenses and an adapter to start with, much like the EOS M came to be.
I don't think that Canon will be ditching their EF mount and the whole EF lens line-up anytime soon. Therefore I wouldn't expect any new big whites or L grade lenses with EF-M mount. I just hope that there will be at least four or five decent affordable primes.
But, honestly, putting a speedbooster optics (focal reducer) into the existing EF to EF-M adapter would simply change everything. And not doing that is immensely stupid.

I am sure they'd use new lens mount, new lenses are in production already...that's my rumour!!!

Finally!!! The only thing I am afraid of is the price... so, will Nikon introduce their FF mirrorless cameras by X mas?

dpfan32: Today's entrepreneur developing awesome products only for one reason:
To sell their company one day to a big multicorporate enterprise ....
Is this how free market and capitalism works today?
Very sad that the big boys getting it all. Sick world ....

I think it's good ( great?) news. Nobody really likes big corporations but if the product will get better an cheaper (not always I know...) why not???

Jonathan Brady: Do you guys think any work got done at Sony's headquarters when the image quality tests started coming out from the Canon 6D Mark II, or did the overwhelming chorus of laughter keep them distracted all day?

They actually check their bank accounts...

Good idea, nice photos. I use only 2nd hand computer hardware and profit from very high quality IT systems just 3 years old and good for another 3 years of heavy use. at 1/6 the cost of a new system.

And by the way: Maybe it is time for ILASC - interchangeable lens and sensor cameras where replacement of the sensor-cpu-subsystem can be performed by users while the rest of the camera including well trained ergonomics stay ...

Camera makers will hate you for this idea!!! Less money means less profit!!!
