vadims: Where is Software Division / Unit?

Is there anyone responsible for the messed up SW they keep creating? And if Yes, does he have any real leverages? From this diagram, it seems like they keep treating SW as a "little extra" they's are adding to their products.

They were screwing it when DSLRs were just taking off, encrypting WB info in their NEFs, totally not getting the value of interoperability in SW world. And they keep screwing it now, having massive issues with OS X upload utility, SnapBridge, KeyMission 360 UI, you name it. Their wireless mobile utility has ratings of 2.4 and 3.3 at App Store and Google Play, respectively. Review of KeyMission 360 UI here at DPR was crushing.

Not saying that if they completely re-think (and... err, re-structure) there SW operations they will be fine, but if they don't, they are going to find themselves in even tighter corner than they are right now.

The board of directors say "meh!"

Boss of Sony: Looks like a nice lens, but the sample images don't have great IQ.

Something wrong is going on. ISO is probably too high...
