  • I haven't used the new Sigma but I've used all 3 of the DP Merrill series and can offer some opinions. Weaknesses: UI, card write speed, AF speed, IQ over 400 ISO, color issues, battery life Pros: ...
  • You didn't make a mistake; there isn't a Nikon version of the Samyang 12mm f/2 because it's for mirrorless cameras only. The only Canon version is for the EF-M mount mirrorless. This is one of ...
  • It is heavy but that extra weight makes it feel very substantial and sturdy. I always feel I have to be careful if I'm shooting the 45, 12-24. Anyone comfortable with the S lenses will be fine ...
  • Because the $249 NX3300 price is for a refurbished camera, not new. Also because all of the cameras are sold by third parties, not Amazon, so prices will be inconsistent. Look for a new NX3300 with ...
  • Replied in Mad as Hell?
Thanks for the good laugh. And a good idea. I'm going to sue Adobe because Photoshop 2.5 doesn't run on my new Mac OS.
  • That was a Tucker.
  • It's a really good lens from 18-50 or so but gets worse as you zoom past that and is only fair at 200. Is focuses very quickly and quietly which makes it particularly good for video which is what ...
  • Old version with plastic mount. Latest (last) version has/had a metal mount.
  • It's very simple. When you have an image on the LCD click the wheel on the back where it says DISP until the data goes away. Once you have it off it stays off until you click the wheel up again.
  • The design/look of a camera is not "know how". If they wanted to sell their technology they would have sold their 28mp sensor. This camera uses the Sony 20mp micro 4/3 sensor so I doubt it has any ...
  • The lens in the Coolpix A is fantastic. It's the probably the best APS-C lens I've tried and I've tried many including all the NX lenses. I would love to see a new version with the D7200 sensor ...
  • The biggest differences I recall are: NX300 has faster AF, a touch screen, and uses SD vs. microSD.
  • What Otto said. Bottom line: it can't be done for DSLRs, there isn't anything now for mirrorless and there never will be. I doubt you would have seen one even if Samsung hadn't stopped production ...
  • Replied in Is this true?
It's true they filed a patent for a 70-200 2.8 FF lens back in 2015. But that doesn't mean anything right now.
  • I use the 16-50 PZ with the NX500 for compactness and the 18-55 with the NX20 I had converted to IR.
  • I like the 16-50 because it's wider but don't care for "power zooms". I kept both.
  • Replied in nx1 issues
When you have issues like you did with the flash it's almost always an issue with the contacts...usually dirt on the hot shoe and or flash hot shoe mount. As you discovered. It wouldn't hurt to ...
  • Replied in Manual lens
The 12mm is wider, faster and smaller than the 14mm. The 12mm is better in the center but the 14mm is more consistently sharp across the frame. The sharpness differences probably aren't a big deal ...
  • I'm only familiar with the Nikon models. They have a decent reputation and I've been considering gettng one myself.
  • Which ones are you considering?  I shoot the moon at 600mm and it was still a bit small. As Otto said, you'll need to crop. Or get closer to your subject.
