Respectfully the AF improvements are not marginal, at least not for my use. Real time tracking changes how you use autofocus. The a7iii always struggled to find my kid's eye behind her glasses; ...

I would consider the extra spent on the a7 IV to be money well spent. The a7 IV is such a massive improvement across the board. I bought an a7 III soon after release and then upgraded the minute ...

This 100%. I just got back from a vacation with images shot on a Sony a7 IV, and two Pixel 7s. We were viewing the photos on our 65" FALD 4k. You can tell which photos came from the phones and ...

I'm hoping for more unique and cool lenses like Tamron's 35-150. I'd also like to see Sony backport the a7RV's AF algorithms to the a7 IV as I believe they share a chipset. Most of all I want a ...

If one buys DaVinci Resolve Studio Desktop does that entitle you to Studio on the iPad? I'm getting into color grading and the free version doesn't support my a7iv's 10bit files. I've been...

This why I love USB-C and in camera battery charging. Nearly every modern device has USB-C charging with Apple being the only real holdout on it. So you never have the wrong charger anymore. Wit ...

I’m a hybrid shooter; any lens I buy should also work for video. i’ve watched plenty of review videos of the 35/1.8 STM where I can HEAR the focus motor grinding away. I’ve had Canon’s STM...

Canon never publishes this info but I’d bet they moved the processor to a more efficient process will massively help battery life

@Foskito, The 35/1.8 STM is a mediocre lens. Good optics, but a loud slow AF motor and external focus drag it down. Compare to Nikon and Sony 35/1.8s with quiet linear motors.

I think your issues are entirely lens based. Sigma's earlier FE lenses were known for having unreliable autofocus and even their current ones aren't as good as native or even Tamron lenses. I ...

I have the G2 of the lens now and the sunstars are decent stopped down to f/11. Flare isn't a big issue on it either in my experience. I do tend to avoid shooting backlit subjects if at all ...

I think this is a good argument for Sony to release at least one APS-C camera in the a7 line body. The FF bodies have alot of awesome physicals controls that make them appealing. I left Sony ...

Meanwhile Sony has them right now. Canon offers large heavy pro glass and lightweight kit glass with nothing in between. An R6II weighs 670g/24oz vs an a7 IV at 658g/23oz, pretty close. Price is ...

I've found a 35-150 used locally for $1700 hence my immediate interest. If you're happy with the IQ on a 50mp sensor I should be more than impressed on my 33mp. Do you find its autofocus to be ...

That's a great photo! Thanks for sharing it. I plan on selling gear to help pay for it as it can replace both my 35/1.8 and 28-75/2.8.

This basically describes what I've been doing with the 28-75 so far. I learned this from reading several photography books. And this is where I'm starting to experiment. I find I'm shooting at ...

Thanks for the feedback. The biggest lens I’ve shot on a Sony body is the 70-300G. The 28-200 is my typical lens, but It lacks for making those big 24x36 prints. I am also adding the 70-180 to ...

I’m an amateur and currenlty use a Tamron 28-75 G2 for taking photos of my kid and family. I typically like to take my “good” photos (ones that I print large and hang in the house) outdoors with ...

I want a sharp wide open 40mm f/2 or faster prime. The chunky overpriced batis doesn’t interest me. The 40 f/1.2 Nokton is always in the corner of my mind, but I’d like autofocus for a lens ...

From everything I've found the a7R V does not use a stacked sensor meaning readout speeds would be unchanged. I can't imagine significant change to rolling shutter performance.
