Consider getting the Tamron 11-20mm f/2.8, 17-70mm f/2.8, 70-180mm f/2.8. It's only 16-270mm rather than 14-300mm, but considering their price tags and weight, they are hard to beat.

The D800 and D800E had the left side AF problem though. The D810 is more refined overall, and is the very few Nikon DSLR that I was truly satisfied.
