No Canon 6DMkII on sight, Canon is better on the shadows than on the highlight.

Work fine for me, recommendation is a Fuji X-T1with the 35mm f1.4 and the 60mm f2.4 Macro, the three are on my desk.

If this lens is great this will be another addition to my growing Fuji collection.

Perfect update for my X-E2, i don't miss the pop-up flash as i use mostly off-camera flash, the AF joystick and the touch panel will help to forget the loss of the D-Pad.

I can't wait for the mirrorless from Nikon, hoping that it don't follow the DL way. A dedicated lens line-up, with an adapter for the F mount lens. The sensor can be a FF or APS-C or both version.

Great camera, i can't wait for the reviews on the real thing, i hope that DPReview will be faster this time, they took one year and half to review the D810.

On article Throwback Thursday: the Nikon D700 (133 comments in total)

I still have my D700 and use it from time to time, I don't think I'll ever sell it.

Between 0.0% to 91.2% for several macros from my garden, the highest scoring was the most contrasted picture, the two with OOF areas to isolate the main subject received 0.0% and 31.9%.

The keywords are correct most of time, but the AI can't see the difference between a common bee and a Osmia cornua.

On article Throwback Thursday: Our first cameras (400 comments in total)

My first serious camera was a Minolta XD700, i still own various MD lens and use them on my Sony A6000 or Fujifilm X-Pro2.

But i remember to have owned some Polaroid and various Kodak before the Minolta, i don't recall the exact models.

On article Ask the staff: electronic or optical viewfinder? (896 comments in total)

Both, depending on the camera i use for the task, EVF on A6000 and 90mm for macro, OVF on D700 for BIF and Hybrid VF on X-Pro2 for everything else.

First film camera was a Minolta X700 in the 80's

I have digital photos from 2001 but cannot remember with wich camera they where taken, in the EXIF it a Sunplus Spca533.

First serious digital camera was a Canon EOS 300D Digital Rebel in 2004.

Valiant Thor: Why do these announcements always say "For more information visit the Manfrotto website" and when you visit the website, there's absolutely nothing about this tripod. A search for it on their website finds nothing.

You need to visit https://www.manfrotto.us/

Melinium: For me 2017 is the year to update the body's, A6500 will replace the A6000, X-T2 will replace the X-E2, and D750 or something better will replace the D700.

My favorite brand is definitely Fuji, i have more lens for the Fuji than for the two other systems.

I use the A6000 only for macro photography with the Zeiss Touit 50mm and the D700 is too big and heavy to be a every day camera.

I enjoy shooting with the three sytems and updating the body's is planned but currently i have no plan to buy more lens for the Sony and Nikon.

I don't care, it's useless to buy an Iphone 7 when in less than one year the Iphone 8 will come and be will far better.

JensR: 60mm filter? I guess 58mm and 62mm are just too common for Leica...

B+W and Heliopan have a few 60mm filters, UV filter and CPL mostly.
