Mine gave me an Err 2 message after a quick burst of shots.  The message said to re-insert the SD card.  Everything was fine after that.  I couldn't reproduce the issue.

My 600ex rt has never overheated.  I only have one, so it's a smaller sample size.  I've gotten smoke to come out of my yongnuo flash though, and It's still chugging along. 😁

There's certainly nothing wrong with mirrorless.  For the kinds of photos most people take mirrorless is ideal in many ways.
