Mr Bolton Nikon does have an 50/1.8 for their Z mount but it is far from compact, which is ironic given their efforts to keep the Z bodies so tidy. In fact, none of the Nikkor Z primes are compact....

I've had far too many third party lenses outgrow their compatibility with Canon and Nikon camera bodies to invest significant sums in them. I'd much rather pay a bit more for a future-proof lens...
