JhvaElohimMeth: I don't understand all this "noise" about dynamic range and shadow recovering. As a wedding photographer I am pleased with the "poor DR" Canon 6D.

The dynamic range could be more, but honestly when exposing the picture in the right way (with a good composition about the exposure of the various elements), I get always the shot I need. And this is what a real photographer should always do.

When light is bad, all cameras make bad pictures, there's no dynamic range that will save you. All that photos with extreme shadow recovery look bad, fake, kitsch. They are awful. Is absurd shooting -3 EV for preserving lights: I just imagine the bride telling "show me the photos" during the wedding, I would really appreciate her face after.

There's no need in more dynamic range. Everyone just need how to look and interpretate the natural fuc*ing light. Everyone just need to be a real photographer, able to evaluate the composition and the exposure of the various elements to show in the picture.

@jaythomasni I don't get it. can you show me what is "natural" looking photograph? I think Dpreview (that's how i call DPReview) photos are great! They looked good. especially the one taken by Rishi at the top.

DPreview editor :p
If you need dynamic range, the D750 is the best choice...

when comparing between TWO, use the word "Better"
when comparing between Three or More, use "Best"...

PanchoVilla: This camera is a DSLR killer. This makes the Nikon D500 look obsolete! XT2 is the camera of the year!

this is a joke... D500's AF performance would make the XT2 look 2nd class.

utomo99: We need better image quality on low light. I hope all manufacturer including Fuji to develop new sensor which work good on low light.

as low as D750 in terms of lowlight performance

It's fun to speculate on what he meant in the context of the X-system development, but I'd just like to point out that this is a horrible life motto.

what it means is to build the best all rounder...

Greg7579: Why in the world are you describing the Fuji lens lineup as niche and attractive to a small dedicated following? Fuji lenses are the best in the world and that was the only part of your very good review that I took issue with. So that means you did a good job. I just pre-ordered the XT-2 on BH, along with the large handgrip.

case by case, Canon's 35/1.4L II, 70-200/2.8L II are at the top of the competition right now. Fuji lenses are not strong in sharpness/bokeh smoothness ratio at 1.2 or 1.4... the 56/1.2 APO loses in sharpness but smoother the bokeh... at 85mm(full-frame equiv) clearly fuji isn't the best...

CosminMunteanu: A new boss in the mirrorless world :-) ...one can hardly ask more from it, Fujifilm did it again (and there are more to come, like the much expected 23mm f:2.o WR lens).
IBIS could be a good adition but, yet again, the world did not jump in the Pentax or Minolta (then Sony SLT) because they have IBIS (unlike Canikon) ;-)
Fuji's sensors (this 24 Mpx evem more) seems to hadle image noise better then other APS-C sensors (not to mention m4/3). True, in the real world this is not much of a difference and many times when the aperture jumps over f:5,6 towards f:11 even the out of focus areas (I mean DOF :-D ) of, a let say, 24 until 85 mm lens is less obvious while compared with a FF system.
All in all, Fujifilm has become the best APS-C sensor size mirrorless system.

gbdz, you must compare aps-c with aps-c. Visit kenrockwell and youtube for some xpro-2 reviews, you will see that their classic chrome filter is "magic" as they say.

2016 is here, and I am still waiting for other more gears of the year editors' choice :p not forgetting the D810 review. Tony Northrup has a big thumbs up on this... even over the D750...

yea, and review websites that emphasize FF offer better IQ over APS-C MFT 1"... of course I too think that FF is the way to go if I care about IQ...

rjaywallace: Barney - the Leica Q MIGHT be nice IF IT REALLY EXISTED outside of demo models provided to the trade press. The Q was announced on June 10 and, checking just now on December 21, B&H Photo still lists it as a "Preorder Item" "coming soon" "shipping date unavailable" more than six(6) months later. Bull! The camera is at best an attractive mirage and at worst an outright fabrication. Something must be seriously wrong with the Q if it cannot reach the retail stream six(6) months after its grand and glorious announcement.

in Singapore the Q was sold out in all Leica stores something in Sep/Oct...

Barney, why in dpreview's studio you didn't pixel peep to look at the quality? :) btw good video. I enjoyed it... it is a "formal" approach to real-world review rather than informal like digitalrev etc...
