Quite true. Wasn’t the 500PF that fell off, and the lens that fell off the mount did so in my bag after being used and stowed.

Yes I think it’s OK with no VR. I was aware of a few weird goings on with f lenses with the Z9 originally. the lens is now also cooked on the D850 also.
