True that it had an inbuilt stabilisation system , but it wasn’t a sensor stabilisation system it was optical, built into the lens.
Minolta had the first sensor stabilisation system.

Canon LX1 was never a Digital8 videocam, you are correct in that it was a digital format, but it wasn't the digital version of Hi8. Canon LX1 was a MiniDV.
