Lbs26: 91% score and d850 100% No sense at all.Dpreview saying R5 it is not class leading dynamic range, when it is..D850 it is 11.63 and R5 is 11.85...not to mention all other aspects...very unrealistic score and review for R5 !R5 is miles better than D850 in every possible way,D850 has one strenght,1 mega pixel in +.
Yeeeh sure,ahahahhhahh :D
I do not understand people who say ''Ohhh my god,i don't want noise reduction on Raw's,thats very bad...etc''.Well...let me tell you somethinig R6 has identical dynamic range to a mighty a7iii,even with noise reduction the Raw files look just amazing, sharp, clean etc. with better color and WB because its Canon...so again ''Noise Reduction'' !?!?Where is the problem with that,i think its just psychological problem and thats all in the end of the day. :) If nobody tells people that there is Noise Reduction applied,i bet that nobody will talk non sense arguments.
Lbs26: Dpreview says ''Impressive, though not class-leading, dynamic range when using mechanical shutter'',this is NOT true...R5 has best dynamic range compared to D850,a7R4,a7R3 :
https://www.photonstophotos.net/Charts/PDR.htm#Canon%20EOS%20R5,Nikon%20D850,Sony%20ILCE-7RM3,Sony%20ILCE-7RM4
Also has better exposure recovery than a7R4,and maybe same as d850 !
Noise reduction?Who gives concern about that, whats the point?I look at the final result image, and its sharp, clean as the other brands from this class !I think Nikon and Sony fan boys just can't handle the reality that Canon R5 is beast of a camera, amazing dynamic range, amazing color science i think one of Canon's best,Auto focus,IBIS,45 mpx...there is nothing to complain !
Seems he can't handle that R5 is fine piece of camera :)

Jan Itor seems that you have no information regard new R5 sensor...at ISO100 it has 11.85 dynamic range, and D850 has at iso64 11.63...it falls little behind R5,and here is the measurements https://www.photonstophotos.net/Charts/PDR.htm#Canon%20EOS%20R5,Nikon%20D850
Also you can download from Dpreview Exposure Latitude tool the raw files underexposued by 4-5-6 stops and you will see yourself...also again ISO invariance test https://www.photonstophotos.net/Charts/PDR_Shadow.htm#Canon%20EOS%20R5,Nikon%20D850
again R5 is better,its has lower noise...Good luck !
Gtoledo: Okay! It seems that Canon has improved the dynamic range of its sensors. However this sensor loses some color and contrast when exposed to +5 or +6 EV at ISO 100. It is still below sensors like the Nikon d850 or Sony a7RIII.

I do not think it is the best camera on the market since its price is somewhat high, and also there is the problem of heating.
So good luck!
Gtoledo Do not use Dpreview online tool, just go and download those raw files and push the exposure in your Computer by +6 and you will see different story...Dreview online tool is not relevant for such tests...because every camera has different iso standart, and at iso100 R5 will have different exposure value than a7r3...here is link to the booth +6 exposure photos, real results no masked once :) booth are 100% crop : https://we.tl/t-A8bWV5YAal
You can also check ISO INVARIANCE of R5 vs A7R3 https://www.photonstophotos.net/Charts/PDR_Shadow.htm#Canon%20EOS%20R5,Sony%20ILCE-7RM3
Good luck with your understanding !

Gtoledo Good luck with your understanding, but i cannot agree with you since i have played alot with those Raw files from a7r3,a7r4 and d850,and i have different opinion, and experience than yours. If you just played with Exposure Latitude online tool by Dpreview,i understand you...because they always cheat..every cameras has different iso standart..and for example at iso100 Sony and Canon and Nikon will have different exposure, and Dpreview Exposure Latitude makes automaticaly those files looking the same by adjusting the brigtness values, which leads to more noise. So if you download by yourself those raw files and compare them into Photoshop, you wil see diffence in the final results.
I own Eos R,and this photo in Dpreview review-the landscape one above...this is very very underxposed, even Sony will show alot of noise...i own this camera and if you shoot with attention to the histogram, you can shoot almost eveything from 1 raw file almost without any noise, and one more thing...Eos R has +1 stop dynamic range when used with Dual Pixel RAW activated...so its has same dynamic range as Sony and Nikon.Dont believe me ?Check this web site https://www.fastrawviewer.com/DPRSplit,i use very very much this option, and my Eos R has amazing dynamic range and clean shadows...but why nodoby tells this,i guess just politics, and money and marketing...I have taken such a dynamic contrast scene with this camera, and never ever experience such a crazy noise showed in the photo above, this is BS...sory !

My mistake !I saw last night this post https://www.dpreview.com/news/3416960241/nikon-d850-is-the-best-camera-dxomark-has-ever-tested-first-to-hit-score-of-100#:~:text=In%20fact%2C%20it's%20the%20first,number%201%20and%203%20spots. But i have not seen that is Dxo mark rating's...However i tought d850 and R5 have much higher score as thei are high end cameras.

Agree...its non sense, who will underexposed for +6 ?Nobody is the aswer, but anyway,Canon R5 even then is little bit better...but as i say before i my post,R5,A7r4,D850 they are all great cameras, and will deliver same result !

Dpreview does not show the reality in their online Iso invariance scene, because they are applying level of brigtness to match cameras difference in the exposure...So go download booth Raw files, open them in camera raw and you will see that i am right :) Every camera is different at iso100,it has difference in the exposure...even cameras from the same brand !

I have downloaded the RAW files from Iso invariance scene and R5 at 6 stops is alot cleaner than d850...check you self...

Shadow recovery to my eyes watching Exposure Latitude Scene is the same, and the Dynamic range it is more than D850 by very little. But we are spliting hairs...the reality i think is that R5,d850,A7r4 all are great cameras and all gives identical results...those little, very little difference are impossible to see it in real world photos, trust me !Check PhothonsToPhotos

photoaddict: I want to get a full frame Nikon but the horrible banding from Z7 made me not want to buy it. Hell, my Nikon D5500 performed admirably thanks to its amazing ISO invariance. I do pull and push exposure a lot to extract more details while developing and editing selected images.
Z7 has banding,Z6 has also banding...if Z5 again has banding...Canon 5d mark 4 has also banding,Eos R also has banding....R6 and R5 thanks God do not have any banding...I've used Nikon and Canon...the older Nikon's d750,d610,d810,d800E has alot better shadows and iso invariance compared to the new mirrorles models !
Dpreview Exposure Latitude is very wrong tool, yesterday i added Nikon d7200 vs Canon Eos R,booth at 5 stops underexposure...and they have difference about 0.5-0.6 stops of light in the histogram...this is not fair comparison at all !Every camera has different base iso100 standart, and if you take 2 different cameras at 1/160 for examples shutter speed, they will have difference in the exposure, which leads to difference in the dynamic range, which is wrong. In other words, you can't use Exposure Latitude Tool, because is not showing the reality !Also i have noticed that not every picture taken in the Exposure Latitude Tool is lightened exactly the same, again this minor difference leads to difference in the exposure, shadows etc.and again is not reliable source to rely on !
Hi Dpreview how can i open this Raw file, seems that Adobe is not supported yet R6?
Is there a version ot Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop that can open this files from R6 ???
