A few photos by Nikon Coolpix B700. Redwing black bird Trumpet swan (edited)
  • Agree, that's base ISO performance as I called.

  • Ha ha, This article is certainly more bias than I am.
For years, I tried to tell people that for low light performance, "the sensor size does not matter, it's the lens size matters."
    Recently, I...

  • Replied in B700 v DSLR
Agreed.  It is due to diffraction.  I forgot to wide open aperture.  Realised this only after got home :-(

B700's selling points are light weight Insanely good image stabiliser long reach (for stationary objects) ... not good for: low light fast moving objects In good light the IQ is not bad at all. eve ...
  • I don't think Rapick is exaggerating.  The Airy disc due to diffraction, which is a quantum effect,  is larger than several pixels on the sensor.  5MP may even be quite optimistic.  However, 5MP ...
  • Here you go. The thread lead All these filters go on nicely. If your camera does not hold filters firm, It most likely one of your threads are damaged; or your filter thread runs too shallow and ...

Yes you can.  52mm filter. The thread is broken into three segments, it is not very strong.  I have put UV,  PL, close up to it.  It holds fine.   I will put up a picture later when I get home.
  • Put each filter on your longest telephoto lens, preferably longer than 300 mm.  Take pictures, and compare them.  Pick the one that does not blur your image.   If the filter diameter is smaller ...
  • I am really "bemused and confused" why you pick RX1.  There are plenty of bigger ones out there.   It is not the manufacture that made wrong sized camera, it is your problem that you choosed the ...
  • I have to warn you that P900, P610 or B700, in fact all supper-zoom cameras so far are not good for indoor sports, especially hockey. The arena is too dark and players are moving too fast. You end ...
  • Replied in P 610 vs B 700
At f8, diffraction definitely kicks in. For this camera there is less reasons not to shoot at max aperture.
  • Replied in P 610 vs B 700
I would recommend B700 for following reasons: 1. You can always trade details for less noise by scaling down.  But lost details cannot be recovered. 2. B700 has some new features such as bluetooth, ...
  • Thanks for the information. The sensor is a bit too small, very reluctant to go smaller than 1".
  • Nice shots! ANAYV. Add a few mine here.  I like this little camera, it almost replaces my 150-500mm big Sigma. bird squirrel Duck Good enough for landscape.  I have printed this one to 20x16. Lhama ...
  • I was waiting for DL18-50.  I have not seen a similar one by Nikon's competitors.
  • In my case, the Bluetooth is connected fine.  I just could not get remote control work.  At one time I even get phone connected to B700 via phone's WLAN without going through Snapbridge.   But ...
  • I had exactly the same msg.
  • Replied in f/0?
No there is no practical lens exist for that now. You know that. However, you misunderstand my point of this post. This post is not about advantage of FF, is about whether sensor size response for ...
  • Replied in f/0?
The physical quantity under discussion has obviously no negative value.  The 0 is clearly approached from positive side.  I am sure you, and in fact everyone, won't have any problem to understand ...
