mristuccia: I would have voted the Hasselblad 907x+CFV-50c II but it's not in the list.

@brownie314 the Hubble telescope is not of 2020, otherwise I would have voted it. 😉

mristuccia: Let's be clear, we all know that the image quality on such toys is horrible for any "PRO" photographer. For the rest of the humanity the difference between iPhone Pro and any other iPhone/other-brand-smartphone is irrelevant.
Luckily I've bought the iPhone 12 mini, which I can operate with one hand like in the original project intentions.
As far as the "professional photography" is concerned, I still keep holding my Fujifilm X-T2 with its tiny "Fujicron" 23mm f2 in my small handbag. The iPhone can stay home, but the X-T2 is always with me. 😉

Well. personally, been there, done that, trashed that.
Everyone of course gets what he deserves.
And all is still good in the universe.

Yeah it is a fun toy for b/v-lographers.

There are professional photographers who use a smartphone to do their work. But usually they use it in order to be unobtrusive and very discreet. So they accept the compromise.
Then I don't see the point of having an extra-large smartphone in place of an APS-C or MFT camera.

Something is telling me they just need more images to train their machine learning algorithms... ,)

@entoman I totally agree with you. My answer was for Steve, not for you!
In the sense: if I'd have to change the sky, then I'd rather take a whole photo of that place from a microstock agency. So that's the reason why I wont do either.
I should have tagged @Steve Swayne for clarity. :)

As I commercial photographer I would do all this s**t any time to make my customers happy.
As a photography author I will leave this s**t to the commercial photographers.

MiWo: Could somebody please make a similar handling camera but with a FF sensor in square (36x36mm)? I don't care if the body isn't smaller, but the ability to use 'standard' lenses and not needing to worry about how it handles in portrait mode would be awesome!

You can just set the CFV-50C II in square mode and get a 39Mpx 33x33mm format out of it.

@John Gellins yeah I know, just joking around the serious truth.

All the magic is in the photographer.
Probably we should start buying photographers instead of cameras. ,)

C plus plus: Did Sony pay for this? It look like sponsored content.
Worse, it describes tech that is old or outdated.

3D TOF? Phones have had that for long time.
A 12MP camera with F1.7 lens with a 'big' 1/1.7" sensor???? My old phone has a 40 MP, f/1.6, camera with a 1/1.7",
A 70mm telephoto? Mine has a 125mm optical telephoto.

Sony truly is a year or two behind.

And their sales (and huge loses) show it.
Even though Sony smartphones are bleeding money, Hauwei sells more phone in one day than Sony does in a whole quarter.

C++ is an old language as well.
You are years behind, like Sony! :)

mrkj: It's great that they're updating their software, but where oh where is the promised 907X which makes me question just what their long term game plan is, if they have one, and whether they're going to remain a player in medium format. Is the 907x like a kickstarter, waiting for enough people to pre-order one to reach a critical number for them to actually start producing the camera? I've been on the fence as to whether to invest in the 1DXII system despite it's appeal. I've no question Fuji is in for the long game with their MF system, and being able to use C1 is a HUGE plus. However, aesthetically I find the Hassy more appealing and satisfying to use, much like their older V series bodies. Just wish I it was more apparent where they stand and inspire some confidence in their support for the line.

The 907x special "man on the moon" edition has been already shipped to some guys who are happily using it.
I guess the "classic" one will come very soon.

For what it counts, I'm one of the lucky ones who has received the Primoplan 58 from the Kickstarter campain for a little bit more than 400 bucks.
Never regreeted this decision. I got the lens in Fuji X mount. It is clean, well built. all metal, and it delivers what was promised. Not a lens for everyday shots however...
