marike6: Really compact P&S cameras like the Ricoh GRD IV or the Canon X100 still have a place. And while I commend Nikon for the nice external controls on the P7100, there is less of a reason for a photographer looking for a travel camera or an enthusiast to buy this type of camera, when for just a bit more, you can have a nice Panasonic GX1, the Nikon J1, or if you are a fan of this form factor, a Canon G1X.

Well said. The body is not small compared to mirrorless, price is not low, what's the selling point?
BTW, where is the NX200 review? postponed?

645D: No external mic input? A major con for serious video shooters:-(

Didn't we see how many 5D2, a digital camera, were used in video production?

Just checked the in-depth reviews, the 3 most popular picks of this group: G12, LX5, and EX1 all have the same magic score of 73%. Pure coincidence?

KonstantinosK: By the way DPR, where is the Samsung NX200? I didn't see a mention of it in the review (or have I missed it?) while it is more of a competitor than the Panasonics and the Olympuses. Is there gonna be a in depth review of the NX200?

Yes, I guess NX200 shall be in the next review to come. Please address the RAW file size issue and any solution to it.

Is DPR gonna make a first full review on an MF camera? Can't wait to see a comparison with top 35mm DSLRs, since there are in close price range.

In reply to:

jj74e: boring interview...not particularly helpful. but thanks for posting anyway- i'm confused though; i thought samsung was not present at PPE since it wasn't covered in the written articles.

Why DPR didn't ask any questions, and Jay was talking everything we already knew. Next time, can you ask why the RAW file is so huge, and will there be any update to make RAW file smaller?

Kuturgan: It seems like there is a focus problem with NX200 shot. The Queen is out of focus.

Barney, the depth of field with the same object size should be very close, and can not explain the big difference on the Queen image. Since with 60mm lens, the NX200 are further away from the object, which would give more DOF, although 60mm at F8 would have less DOF than 50mm F8. These two effects can cancel each other.
