Paisley Park: The Sony E mount is bolted with 6 screws and uses a thick alloy as their mount on a full magnesium body. Also the E mount alloy is much thicker compared to the mount diameter itself.

The Nikon Z mount uses only 4 screws, and mount looks very thin compared to the very large mount diameter. It's no surprise it will be more fragile. Also the larger mount diameter means it's subject to more torque. It doesn't help that the camera is also extremely heavy.

I'm not surprised to hear the mount breaks.

When poorly designed, no 6 screws or 12 for that matter will fix that. It just added useless weight.

Those all new improvements are dandy and all yada yada I get it but what we really want is the branding fix!

It's really embarrassing when you walk around with Z9 and my <insert here Olympus, Canon, Sony etc> tape on top of Nikon brand fell off.

Mal69: I just picked up some weights, 5KG exactly, feels heavy to me, but this article claims a Nikon Z9 and 800mm Lens is so lightweight you can carry it around all day, haha.

Okay I get it, some of you can do that, some of jus just cannot.

You just said it yourself.

If you can't carry around 3.6 kg, 5kg with tripod for whatever reason than this setup isn't obviously for you. There are plenty other alternatives for you out there. Just don't react to this article saying it's too heavy. It's like saying in a Porsche forum why would someone paying that amount of money while a toyota cost only a fraction of that. No need to do that.

My advice to you is just read the article and leave it at that.

Sadly enough I'm quite lot stronger than average weak men. I tried m43 setup + 100-400 and I have to use 5kg sandbag to keep it stable. Actually I don't mind carrying 5 kg sandbag but what annoys me I've got sands everywhere in my car at the end of the day.

Naveed Akhtar: Considering the Raw perfmance of em-iii was already above the standard 4/3 sensor (roughly half of stop lower than APSC, while it should be a full stop) maintaining it with improving other performance areas and features is an achievement on its own.
I am very pleased!

@n_c_v technically you're right but that's not the reality in our m43 world. What's wrong with you?

I have had 16MP for almost a decade. I don't need more and I've been telling that ever since. This 20MP is another big mistake, OMS should listen to m43 users and go back to 16MP. The 16MP sensor is so good, in good light it almost matches any high res FF even! Even the 12MP is almost as good as the 16 so please listen to us and go back to 12MP. That's good enough for me.

If you're smart, you buy one lens instead of 14 lens hoods.

If one can't see what the focal plane is, or want everything sharp regardless the angle just use your phone. Anything with more than 1 button is too complicated for them.

And the buffer was already cleared after the first click from those 195 shots in 2 seconds. That's Nikon Z9 for you :)

For a marketing tool the Z9 blows other competitors out of the water already. Now imagine when Nikon brings out the real deal.

Gerard Shutter: Good attractive camera, I'm just sorry for the plasticky feeling.
I think micro 4/3 has a lot to give especially with sensor technology reducing the gap between sensor sizes more and more.

quote: "Add in the fact that the latest AI de noise software also produces remarkable improvements, it seems that small sensors still have a place."

Now imagine using the same software on bigger sensor, you could practically shoot at 1.000.000 ISO no?

Okay okay have it your way. Canon is not a good brand. You're entitled to think Canon sucks.

Good good...You don't have to agree with me, I'm not Buck Roger or Roger Moore or whatever his name is so just take it with lot grain of salt when I said Canon is a good brand. It's just my opinion.

No worries bro, nothing to worry about. Canon is a good brand.

Now if you make a lens more compact and lighter then the DSLR version, surely you can use common sense there has to be a compromise somewhere? Guess what that would be or can you only quote what other people are saying?
