3pgrey: If c1 is promoting it it must be at a certain standard. Worth a look if not $99

Capture One definitely IS promoting the new Mastin styles. I received an email from Capture One about the styles today. Plus, Capture One promoted them on Instagram.

I'm excited about the new partnership and looking forward to seeing what other film stock Mastin makes for Capture One!

Hope it is at least 500ws. 600ws would be better. Even higher would be fantastic!!!

No camera stabilization and only one card slot. If it has eye af, is it any good?

Yake: How exactly does Unsplash pay their bills and how long will it be around?

"The images I share on Unsplash don’t lose value...." Of course, it's hard to lose value when they start at zero value. Can't get lower than zero, right?

The value of your photos goes below zero when someone in a photo sues you for not having a model release when the photo is used in an ad.

WORST possible thing to happen to people wanting to make a living from photography. So sad that a profession can degraded by people who want to feel important.

photo_rb: I'd be interested in hearing how and why one would use this when shooting with a high MP camera. Just looking for some scenarios because at this point I don't get it (and I'm an Apple fan) but happy to be enlightened.

This app should be viewed as a way to use a Photoshop-like app on a tablet, NOT as a Lightroom or Capture One replacement. As far as a scenario goes, I think just editing a photo on an iPad with an Apple Pencil is fantastic experience that should be tried.

On article The Nikon D850 could be the only DSLR you’ll ever need (1067 comments in total)

I have mine and it is FANTASTIC. I have sold my D810 and D500 to buy a second D850. I am a commercial photographer and have shot 3 jobs with it already. Could not be happier. And for all of the "reviewers" that say you need it on a tripod due to the sensor size, that's crazy. All of my shoots were hand-held...and sharp!

jl_smith: Bummer, I was hoping this was a LR CC replacement. I don't do much in PS CC, though I'm glad I have it with the 'bundle', but my year subscription renewal is nearing and paying yet ANOTHER $120 for renting software is starting to chap my hide (even though I've been with LR since Beta 1).

If anyone has a suggestion for an LR replacement, I'm all eyes.

Edit -- apparently Affinity is working on a LR-type of product. Cool.

I HIGHLY recommend Capture One Pro to replace Lightroom. The image quality is better than what you get from Adobe and there are no speed problems. Affinity Photo can replace Photoshop for many people.

I feel this will be a great addition to my Profoto system. It has an Air Remote BUILT-IN! This means you can fire AND control the power level of other Profoto strobes, directly from the A1 flash on the camera. Plus, the A1s will work off-camera with the regular Air Remote. If you shoot with Profoto, this is FANTASTIC!

Dan Donovan: I remember when Apple moved from the old iPhone connector to Lightning. People complained. Who out there wants to go back to old one now? We should be thankful companies innovate instead of coming out with one product and quitting.

First, you will not need to use an adapter with Apple earphones that come with the phone. The adapter is only needed for old earphones.

Also, the innovation gained is better sound quality (Lightning has better sound) and now there is more room in the phone for other stuff, like a second speaker, etc. As time goes on, manufacturers will make lightning earphones, just like Apple did. This issue too shall pass.

vlad2304: I have 5-6 excellent headphones that, combined, cost much more than IPhone 7. Now I am using IPhone 6S with 128gb memory where I keep most of my audio files in ALAC format. In case something goes wrong with my current phone I'd better switch to any other phone with 3.5mm jack, be it Samsung or something else...

The lightning connector provides better audio quality than the old headphone jack. You may want to sell all of your good headphones and buy a really, really good headphone when they are available!

Kiwisnap: Can you actually access RAW images on an iOS device now?

RAW files from other cameras, but NOT actual iOS device RAW files. iPhones and iPads only generate JPGs, but that might be changing soon. My guess is the RAW file support on iOS devices will be announced at the Apple event on September 7th. Just a guess.

For the commercial photographers out there, I hope everyone realizes Smugmug converts all files to the sRGB color space. Zenfolio leaves the color space alone.

Zenfolio should have been included. I could not be happier. Here is my site if you're interested: www.dandonovan.com

Besides having public portfolio pages, I deliver all my files to clients using private pages.
