  • I was lucky enough to shoot a few games on the MCG a few years ago - actually on ground and to be able to wander around the boundary during play (inside 50m arc forbidden though). Also as players ...
  • Replied in Which Macro?
The anti-reflection stickers work wonders on the wide-angle lenses in the dome-port. Not a single ruined photo now... I highly recommend them. The company I bought my Tamron 90mm from mucked-up the ...
  • I'd like to see a manufacturer do something a little bit different - maybe a 28-200 f/4 or 50-150 f/2 - something incredibly useful that would very likely be in every single person's travel bag - ...
  • Replied in Which Macro?
My flat port arrived yesterday, uses the same lens extension for the 90mm macro as the 16-35 and 17-40 lenses which is nice - no having to buy or pack two extensions. I also got two ...
  • Replied in Which Macro?
Thanks guys. I think I have decided on the newest Tamron 90mm VC (F017) which they say build quality is better than the Canon 100mm L IS and image quality just as good. It will be my very first ...
  • Replied in Which Macro?
Seems the Tamron 60mm is for APS-C? Not many Canon 50mm f/2.5 Compact Macro around anymore...
  • Created discussion thread Which Macro?
Hi - interested in opinions for a macro to be used with an Ikelite Housing and Canon 5DIII or 5DS full-frame bodies. I have been using a 16-35 f/4 L and a 17-40 f/4 L with both bodies above - and ...
  • Hi, I thought I'd post here as people might know of the right device for this purpose... I would like to have a live-view (from the lens of a DSLR / Canon 5DS or 1DX etc) on a smallish screen so ...
  • The 16-35 /4 shares screw-in filter size with a lot of other L lenses. it's also a great lens for filter systems such as Lee 100 and Lee holder... (or Nisi/other brands of similar) something that ...
  • Find the Exposure comp/ AEB setting in the menu under the red camera section. Hit the SET button main dial, rotate the top dial to change the stops difference between the 3 exposures, it will ...
  • You can take 3 exposures with as much as 2 stops difference between them from memory with the 5DII. The HDR processing needs to be done in post rather than in camera. I think that's the best way ...
  • Backing for the gelatin I guess? to be honest I've never seen what a gelatin filter is like - sounds wobbly
  • So does that mean the camera focus point (assuming perfect focus) is slightly nearer or further but ultimately produces a mostly identical shot on the sensor? ie: allowing the camera to autofocus ...
  • I tried it tonight in my 200 f/1.8 - having the drop-in clear glass in place or not seems to make no difference to the final shot that I could tell handheld. It didn't even seem to affect the ...
  • My initial shots (about 10 or so) seem to indicate that it makes no difference whatsoever if the filter is in place or if it is removed completely. It doesn't even seem to make much difference if ...
  • I'll take my drop-in filter out tonight when I get home and see it it makes a difference Victor. I'll also use the 5DS as that will be your likely combo right?
  • I have always owned an overly-engineered monopod which feels more like a solid steel club and is nice to carry while walking back to the car at night loaded with gear for protection... but at one ...
  • I think you will absolutely fall in love with it Victor. The only negative thing I could say about it is the balance (of course we already expect the big weight) - a lot of people buy a long foot ...
  • The advantage of the 16-35mm f/4 IS L is that it shares filter size with many other lenses  such as the 24-70 and 70-200. The 14mm is very wide with little distorsion.
  • Just throwing this in: 16-35 f/4 L plus a 14mm f/2.8 L might be around the same overall price as the 11-24mm or a little bit more expensive then the 16-35 f/2.8 III. Both are excellent lenses.
