Hanging 175lbs on a strap without adding stress to it doesn´t proof the system is secure. Cos stress and vibration caused carabiners of eg. BlackRapid straps to break. The other point often overlooked is that no camera vendor encourages the tripod mount to be exposed to such stress. So in my books we´ve now another rapid strap system that doesn´t adress the real issues which come with an otherwise great idea.

icexe: I'm not a professional sports photographer, so all I see is a huge, bulky camera that I would have no desire of carrying around all day.

The first part of your statement explains the rest of it. But trust me - if there would be an alternative every pro would go for it - me included.

Mister J: Quite a hefty thug of a camera. Unfortunately, far too big and heavy for me. Panasonic GH4 should do the biz though.

AlexRuiz´s statement is true for all single digit Nikons.

Unfortunately Nikon hasn´t understood that, whoever buys into a complete system, want´s to know beforehand where the journey goes to or at least want a (very) rough idea. This article should be another wake-up call Nikon to change their information policy. The better, we the consumers, understand, the more likely we´ll stick with a brand. Lesser understanding will cause unsecurity and (maybe) translate in loss of customers. Fuji, is (in this field at least) doing better. The roadmap for their X-Lenses might not work out, some lenses might be delayed etc. but it gives the consumers at least the security they need and people usually don´t have a Problem to wait for a certain product they´re lusting for. I think this article would be misunderstood if readers consider him as simply complaining about Nikon as a brand or the Nikon 1 system as such.
