Although I am fully in favour of ongoing improvements and may well end up buying this lens, I doubt whether we would notice the difference if these samples had been taken with the older version.

Some very good work here. But a classification for "Long Exposure Photographer Of The Year"? Really?

Quite a mouthful during conversation! And how exactly do you easily differentiate between Type 1 (12.7 x 9.5mm) sensor , Type 1 (4:3) , and Type 1 (3:2) – all of these being variations on the...

My first camera as a child was a Kodak Brownie. The vague VF and the point and shoot operation may be similar, but the size of the Brownie meant you were very conscious of carrying it around, even...

Stir the mud at the bottom of the pond and make things even less clear! Why not quote length or diagonal in mm?

Depends which listing you look at - some say 17 in 12 groups, some say 12 in 7 groups. i doubt there are 2 such different constructions for seemingly identical lenses, one is likely a mistake.

Looks like the “stills” version of their 8mm T2.9 cine lens, which I believe is MFT only and quite well regarded.

The concept of a camera milled from solid titanium surely makes this one of the least green cameras ever. Perhaps Leica deserve a special wooden spoon type award for wasting/depleting the world's...

Perhaps that is what they mean, but their website says “X Mount lenses for the X Series inherit FUJINON optical technology”, and there is also a range of X Mount Cine Lenses (2 models: 18-55/2.9 &...

Looks a great lens, but I’m a bit puzzled by the statement that “This lens marks the first collaboration between FUJINON Optics and FUJIFILM X Series engineers”. How did they manage to come up with...

Rather worrying that the 56mm appears to have a white band at the front of the lens, just around the front element. Reflections?

“This is the best LCD design ever” – or to add the wisdom of Homer Simpson - “This is the best LCD design so far”. And as you say “Finally, the endless tilt screen vs. articulating screen debates...

Don’t they already have a mount converter to use Sigma EOS or SA mount lenses on Sony E mount cameras? It shouldn’t be hard to bring out a version to use their EOS lenses on Fuji X mount cameras.
-
I believe the Sigma method involves a production line making most of the lens (for whatever fitting), and then a smaller tailored line for the rear section, electronic assemblies and mount. I don’t...

Completely agree there are gaps in the X mount system, but the Sigma business model is based on variations of a theme – the same lenses in different mount fittings. It is inevitable Sigma X mount...

Sigma joined up with Leica and Panasonic in the L Mount Alliance and made a commitment to L mount lenses. This lens expands their range and fills a gap in the L mount area. It’s very easy for them...

papajohnny: Obviously someone pays, we all do – and “free at point of use” or “without charge to supply” would be a rather clumsy expressions to use every time. It’s not always that simple...

Not only is the procedure free, but certain groups get free bus travel to the hospital and you’re given free tea/coffee and toast afterwards.

Do the hospital staff still offer you tea/coffee and toast afterwards?
