Papi61: I don't think I've ever used my 14-24 @f/2.8. It's a landscape lens, it basically lives on a tripod and typically shoots at f/8-11. And yeah, 1mm at the wide end makes a huge difference, as you just found out.

Well stated- and the same is true on the ultra telephotos. With the progress of low noise high ISO - f5.6 400, 500 and 600 primes would be welcome additions for old wildlife and birding guys:)
