Take it straight up from a clear area, and make sure it's well above any treetops, powerlines, etc. Keep it in C mode (the slowest). Before taking off, make sure you allow enough time for the Home ...

I've had an XS-Pro on mine for years, and the Canon cap fits snug and secure. I don't think 35mm is wide enough to require a super thin filter, unless you plan to stack.
-
Also keep in mind that if you do panoramas, you're getting a lot more megapixels in the stitched result. I've gotten some good results that way with my Mini 3 Pro, though a Mavic 3 doing the same ...

Been using a Caldigit TS3+ for a few years. There's a new TS4 version, though TS3+ still works for me. It has Thunderbolt, so you pay quite a premium for that, but I have a pair of thunderbolt ...

I got the RC Controller with the Mini 3 Pro. It's my first drone, so I don't have experience with the phone+controller method (aside from the Avata, which I got recently, but that's different). ...

I second the recommendation for the Mini 3 Pro. It's my first drone (I've since gotten the Avata too, and plan to get something like a Mavic 3 with a bigger sensor at some point). It's easy to fly ...

Yeah, it's his drone to risk. But it's silly to encourage others to hack away before you've even done it yourself. My "ill-advised" is directed at anybody thinking of likewise voiding their ...

This is the silliest post I've seen here in a long time. Maybe if you posted a video, sharing your extensive credentials on aerodynamics, and how you cut a cross-section into an expendable backup ...

If you're in the US, you need to be aware that you'd be violating FAA rules against flying while drinking, as well as rules requiring mainting visual line of site. Having said that, depending on ...

Duly noted. I was getting my wires crossed between thinking of my Mini 3 Pro with C/N/S modes, and the Avata which just has N and S (and Auto). What I meant was, try and kick it up a notch if the ...

Another tip to keep in your pocket is that if you're in a slow mode (e.g., Cinema), and you're fighting to get back against high winds, you might be better off kicking it up into Sport mode. ...

Thank you for the kind words, Patrick! David

My understanding is that at the widest apertures, the DS lens effectively has a graduated aperture. I'm just making up these numbers, but imagine you take an f/1.2 shot, and an f/2.8 shot, and then ...

I read elsewhere that once you take off, you can disconnect the phone. I haven't tried it yet, but I think you'll still have that annoying red "remote id error" in the display after doing that.
-
So I just updated the Avata firmware, excited for 10 bit footage. Drove to a spot, and found I couldn't take off due to "Remote ID error!" Fortunately it wasn't too long a drive or I'd have been ...

Heh. That's the fear that's kept me from enabling sideways motion on my Mini 3 Pro, despite wanting to. (The M3P doesn't have side collision sensors.)

If your hearing aids have bluetooth, can you simply bluetooth the mac directly with the aids? As for speakers, I got a Soundbar with a subwoofer and mounted the soundbar on the underside of the ...

The 8gb ram might be as much of an issue as the processor, especially if you're working with big files, and the action generates lots of layers. A lot depends on the specific Actions you're using, ...

Not sure on the exact date, but yes, it's a non-pro version of the Mini 3, without obstacle-avoidance. It should be cheaper. Unless you want a 2nd unit as a spare, I'd opt for the Pro.

I crashed my Mini 3 Pro (first drone) 2nd day I had it. There's a VERY tall tree outside my home, and I was bringing it down and failed to account for it, and the collision sensors either missed ...
