Or Sigma which was and still is made in Japan.

But the photo content itself isn't random, so a well-trained machine learning tool will find the patterns easier than a human. If you and I can figure out what the subject is behind all the...

Hopefully the new 50mm f/1.4 is something special, as it's heavier than even the 85mm f/1.4. I could still be tempted to get this for a future Foveon since they need all the light they can get, but ...

Maybe next week, but more likely around CP+ later in the month. https://www.sonyalpharumors.com/sigma-50mm-f-1-4-fe-lens-will-cost-152900-yen-around-850/

I'd be rather annoyed with myself if I returned an otherwise perfect lens due to a minor cosmetic issue and get another decentered lens in return...

@Hubertus Bigend: Phones tend to work around that by performing re-mosaicing to Bayer pattern before saving the raw/DNG file.

(at) PowerG9: I was referring to Chaitanya's comment, but there's also a huge difference in image circle, we're comparing apples to oranges. When cropped for same framing we talk about an f/11...

Strange that they never used the full 40mp+ resolution of the assumed quad-Bayer sensor in the GH5S for a photo oriented camera. Even in quad Bayer form that would have been an interesting option.

The closest full frame equivalent would be the Laowa 85mm f/5.6 2x macro at just 252g: https://www.venuslens.net/product/laowa-85mm-f-5-6-2x-ultra-macro-apo/

I experienced this with a Sigma DP2 Merrill, a Sigma dp2 Quattro and a Sigma fp. There may be hope for improvement, as Sigma changed the rear control wheel when launching the fp L model and offers ...

The original Sigma DP2 leather case is great, unlike the dp2 Quattro which had a far less useful half-case.

And now the specs of a previously unknown 50mm F1.4 DG DN Art have leaked, which usually means a launch is around the corner (possibly at CP+ Feb 23-26?). https://www.sonyalpharumors.com/leaked-spe ...

At least it's a rather major upgrade when compared to the other refreshes of the year like KF (new name), OM-5 (new brand), R6 II (new heatsink) or a7R V (fifth time's the charm). Another entirely ...

That's why I speculated they may enter the market purely as a subcontractor to Panasonic, like they did for Nikon and other brands in the past.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Panasonic 28-200mm is Tamron's way to sell L-Mount lenses, just like Nikon rebadged several Tamron lenses for Z mount.
-
It's particularly useful with adapted rangefinder lenses and Sigma fp allows you to create presets for each adapted lens individually. For their own lenses it's a fully automatic correction.

That Sigma was designed for DSLR and then adapted to L-mount. This has no impact on its excellent image quality, but AF is usually better on Sigma's "DG DN" lenses and the Panasonic Lenses which ...

According to Panasonic, there will be a new camera later this year and if history is any indication it would be delivered in both Lumix and Leica brand variants: “We are planning to release a ...

With the Sigma you can set the lens to manual focus, turn the focus wheel until it doesn't focus any closer, then move the camera as your Olympus. Note tha 1x on m43 is equivalent to 2x macro on ...

The 28mm F1.4 DG HSM Art was originally designed for DSLR, so it's likely weaker for autofocus than the DG DN lenses designed for mirrorless. Unfortunately, there is no 28mm DG DN yet, but 3 each ...
