I like the LX100 as a compact hybrid, but without an LX100 II OIS improvement (for 4k), I'm passing on this one. IQ looks a little better, at least.
Slouch Hooligan: It seems there are photographers whose photography is inadequate to serve their ego needs. These photographers compensate by becoming ego-attached to their equipment choices, spending a great deal of time stalking the forums for issues to argue about that are distractions from actual photography.
Forums/social media are the 21st century pubs and coffee shops.
Just a bunch people talking about things they like/dislike.
Nothing wrong with that.
Arizona Sunset: Shame not to stabilize all those lovely Fuji primes... If his had X-H1 level stabilization I would have considered it.
Nah, he didn’t nail anything.
It would have made sense leaving it out of the X-Pro3.
This is their hybrid flagship, and like the GH5, E-M1 II, Z6/7, and A7X III, IBIS is now a minimum specification for a mirrorless system camera.
For some reason, the EOS R doesn’t give me G.A.S. For now, I’ll pass.
Arizona Sunset: Over the past few months, I planned to buy the EOS R and new lenses. I sold my Fuji/Sony kits ($$$$) in preparation, not tied to anything in particular. However, with the Canon camera and lenses in the cart, I can't pull the trigger. Usually there is a competitive advantage or new capability to play with, to compel the purchase. Here I see none.
For more than a decade I’ve let go of my gear, from many genres, before the next major release. There is no better time sell than before the formal announcement if you are looking to skip hard devaluation and then upgrade.
I was looking at the Z7, but it’s missing dual pixel AF speed and mid-telephoto reach. Perhaps the crop would due. I might snag one to play with at least.
While in between systems, Ive been shooting the G7X II, RX1R II, RX100 VI, and Mavic Air. Life’s good.

ijm5012: "...And as he stood on the mountain top overlooking the valley below, he proclaimed 'for I am the Shepard, and these are my sheople' ".
Wheymen
Imager of: This is great news. I plan on selling all my now redundant DSLR gear and use this phone exclusively. I mainly shoot weddings and landscapes. Thanks Apple.
A divorcée photoshoot filled with images of tears, regret, and financial ruin would be far more realistic than a $50,000 party.
This camera should have the OVF/EVF from the X-Pro2.
Santa Sony,
I’ve been a very good fanboy this year. For Christmas, for the fifth time, all I want is a 35mm f2.
Love,
Everyone
Arizona Sunset: No PDAF, no buy.
I’ve owned four DFD cameras. They were all hunty.
No PDAF, no buy.
The magnification, stabilization, and build quality is impressive.
However, the full zoom image quality (from the three sample images) is not good.
In contrast, I wonder how well the P900 and RX10 IV hold up to cropping during less than perfect sunlight.

I want to buy this lens and don’t even own a FF Sony.
Elliot H: no two card slots, no sale
LTE and cloud backup help with that
Thank you Apple!!!
Now that the newest fashion accessories have been released, I can finally afford the iPhone 7+ at half price.
IR1234: Is it necessary that pretty much any clothing (inc packs) designed for photographers, must make you look like a dork?
Mandatory. These fanny packs look like medical device holders. The backpacks look like turtle shells or worse, the slings look like murses (man purses). Photographers unite.
Chizuka: My first reaction was not about the bags but about how bulky the “portable” iphone + accessories has become. Wouldn’t a small p&s camera be better and all in one And only need a little pouch/bag?
For sure, she'd rather you have that 1" fixed compact thing bulging your pocket than this fanny pack phone holster.
Also a highly effective chastity belt...
