Is the gif at the top a joke?
Just look at how tilted/distorted the hill on the left becomes after the pano is "straightened."
When will the D510 come out to fix the D500?
Next year?
buybuybuy: D810 looks quite shabby by comparison, esp. when those shutter shock/VR results are concerned.
You're making it sound like the Canons you currently own. Is it really THAT bad?

NilsBV: That's a pretty stunning picture. Makes we want to go out and photograph rally cars.
What's the benefit of going out and photographing when a large portion of this effect was faked in Photoshop?
Sony's groundbreaking camera is truly innovative. I believe it's the first camera to manifest more artifacts at lower ISOs!
LOL @ the Nikon D810. It wasn't even in contention!
The results of this test will be useful to those interested in capturing BIF (bats in flight).
Nice work. Appreciate the ability to filter by ISO, among others!
And the hirsute forearm is the cherry on top?
Brilliant, just brilliant rendition of a sky so adorned in russets and with a hint of gold for character!
Tsk, tsk to the six sandbaggers gave it a vote of 2.
SKIP the D810 review. Nobody cares but D810 owners themselves.
buybuybuy: Why'd you deliberately blur the image?
Nice image, but pending alternative explanations, to my eye it has been blurred vertically, akin to layering an image that has been vertically translated by a few pixels relative to the original.
Few others seem to notice/care, so perhaps it looks normal to everyone but me.
Why'd you deliberately blur the image?
It's reassuring to see that despite all the gloom and doom about the demise of cameras at the hands of the cellphone, at least one company is pulling out all the stops.
It's a refreshing contrast to the general Canikon malaise. And I say this as a Nikon DSLR user.
Waayy overpriced at $949, despite alleged "improvements."
Nice work on the field-test! The images are acceptably sharp, and for the price, one can hardly argue with the results.
The Tamron seems like a fine option for budding wildlife photographers on a budget or even veterans who might appreciate the added utility of having on hand a lightweight, versatile optic as an adjunct to their more expensive lenses.
A strong showing from the Zeiss!
Just about anybody with a decent camera could pull of shots like these. The problem is that, for most people stuck in a 9-5 M-F job, these trips are few and far between--if ever!
It's funny to see shots at ridiculously small apertures. Ostensibly, you people were going for panning blur.
A vari-ND would have helped achieve shallow DOF, but that might have exposed flaws in AF--and that would be very inconvenient, wouldn't it? ;)
buybuybuy: Why'd you kill it?
Thanks for the link to the other images! It's quite incredible to see them congregate thusly--seemingly in repose!
My apologies for jumping to the wrong conclusion.
