Interesting looking flash and certainly has a good price!

I ordered one from Best Buy about a week ago with no issues via next day delivery. UPS screwed up and I got it a day late. Best Buy refunded my extra shipping charges.

Exactly the way I feel, I would be happy to have a sub optimal flash rather than no flash at all. I can't always predict in advance if I will have a need for a flash and I don't want to be burdened ...

Thanks for info, I like the size of the SB-300 and I would use it rather infrequently so I may try to locate a shop with one so I can check it out in person.

I will have to see the SB-500 in person. It doesn't look any smaller than my SB-600 in the pictures.
