@nepalisherpa: I don't know much about it, but the FF Canon R8 currently goes for US$1,500, including kit lens.
-
Looks interesting, but not US$1,600 interesting. :-)

"MELVILLE, NY, February 8, 2024 –Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions is proud to announce they have solidified the #1 mirrorless camera brand position for a third year in a ...

That sensor is APS-H size.

If the cameras in question already exist, why would they only have an impact in the second half of 2024? My guess is that Canon will eventually come out with one of those no-viewfinder vlogging ...

In the second half of 2024: "On top of this, we plan to increase the percentage of sales coming from entry-level products through the contribution of new products." https://global.canon/en/ir/confe ...

The shift to mirrorless was inevitable. Canon/Nikon accelerated that shift when they quit developing new DSLR models.

"Canon's closest competitor is the [2019] PowerShot G7 X Mark III, but it is the worst vlogging option among the cameras highlighted here". -DPR It won't happen, but Canon should take the tiny...

The images produced by this camera have too much this, and not enough that. :-)

@M Lenson: It's only one country, but the Japan-only BCN Retail shows the R50 selling well, and the R100 not making the Top 50.

Even the 2017 M100 had a touchscreen. First-time camera buyers are used to using a smartphone touchscreen. I suspect that the R100's lack of a touchscreen will be a deal breaker for many potential...

If they wanted to (they won't) couldn't Canon make an RF-S camera that's as thin as an M200? They could also make a fixed-lens compact camera based on the M200, but they probably will never do that ...

"Even Fujifilm is scrambling to release a competitive product to the Zf." Fujifilm doesn't make FF lenses, so a new FF body wouldn't do them much good. :-)

"The Canon EOS R6 II is still the camera to beat in this class." -DPR But the Nikon Zf is pretty on the outside. :-)

Nikon's market share has "skyrocketed" all the way up to 13%, so I'm sure Canon and Sony are deeply concerned. :-)
-
@MikeRan: No, Canon isn't losing market share. In their financial documents their forecast is a 2023 interchangeable lens camera market share of (2.9/5.85) almost 50%. They also forecast that their...
