Exactly, and as others have pointed out, even image quality selections which can compress files much more often do the same without any 'significant loss of quality' and quite fast too. It does sound like dumb marketing talk. There should have been more tests with either quantitative results or at least lots of comparison shots.

On photo DXO at 2.8 in wb2trf's photo gallery (1 comment in total)

Why would you post the SEL35F18 at F1.8 when the Sig 1.4 was taken at 2.8 like the other Sigma? (@DXO comparison) The Sony would perform much better than it appears to here at the same aperture.
