I personally think that the lack of IBIS will not matter at all. If this camera has built-in EVF and other specifications are correct, it will do very very well in the market. And for video, many ...

I think R8 is the RII and will cost around $1500. R9 will be RP II and will cost around $1000. R is now available at $1400.
-
Don't R, R5 and R3 have the same viewfinder magnification? R5 and R3's EVFs also have same resolution.
-
You raised a very interesting point. It seems that R and RP do not fit in Canon's standard naming scheme. And the R6 already has its successor available whereas there are no successors in sight ...

I know R has Large Zone AF: Vertical and Large Zone AF: Horizontal - AF methods that are not available in RP. Other than that is there any difference in AF performance between these two? I mean is ...

For prints and SDR display: - 100 cd/m2 (350 lux) (like not using any special lighting to view print) - 200 cd/m2 (700 lux) (like using a typical spotlight in a gallery or other place for viewing...

From my understanding (and I may be wrong), Canon use raw NR to only those cameras for which they allow to use Auto Lighting Optimizer (ALO) [intelligent brightening of shadows] with HEIF. They ...

From my understanding, Canon never takes equivalence of aperture into account. So f2.8 = f2.8 etc. You will match exposure on different sized sensors and just have to accept that you get larger ...

Canon recommend ISO 200 with HDR PQ because they want you to use Highlight Tone Priority (HTP) with HDR PQ. Otherwise the highlight clippings will look more abrupt/ harsh compared to regular mode. ...

I would take Canon R3 with RF 24-70mm f2.8. If I could take two lenses I would add RF 24-240mm.
-
Yes, but OP would love to have the f2.8 trinity. Also, in my OP, I mentioned the version III of 16-35 f2.8 and 70-200 f2.8. But now after giving it more thought, I think he can get better deals on ...

I would probably buy used - EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM and - EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM if I were you. And sell the 17-40, 85, and 70-200f4.

But Canon means perfection! If that lens was even 259 grams, it would be too flimsy, and if it was 261 grams, that would be too heavy. People are going to switch to Canon in droves for this lens.
-
Personally I would love to get competitively priced mid level lenses from first party (Canon). But to get that from Canon, we need third parties in the market.
-
As a consumer here is what I would like Canon to do. Do not make the RF mount "open", that is - no need to make the lens protocols available. However, at the same time do not actively block third ...

"Its resolving power increases as the aperture is stopped down, and thus the depictive characteristics vary according to the aperture value. A soft depiction can be produced by the residual ...

Personally I would save some more and then buy an used EF 24-70mm f2.8 II. This may be one of the best general purpose lens in my opinion.

I find RP's High Speed Continuous Shooting useless mainly due to the laggy EVF. EVF and AF are usable in Low Speed Continuous Shooting, but then the max 2.6 FPS is slow. I find it's AF adequate, ...

(1) R6's sensor (2) Digic X (3) Same AF system as R10/ R7, with the same user interface with a joystick (4) HEIF

I would love a low budget version of 24-70mm f2.8. Also a smallish 50mm f1.4. Both should be optically corrected - not overly reliant on digital distortion and vegetating correction.
Activity older than 12 months is not displayed.
