  • There is a free program out there called "Take Ownership" or "Take Ownership Pro" that will do what you need with a right click context menu item.
  • Have you disabled on-board sound in BIOS? You say you are running an external sound card, it should work without the realtek onboard sound as long as you have the drivers for the external card.
