Comparison with VM 21 mm / F 1,8 Ultron will be interesting.

TN Args: Let's hope the camera isn't as 'me too' as the lens spec. OTOH introducing a new camera and making it a DSLR instead of mirrorless is about as 'me too' as one can get. Like introducing a 'new' TV with a CRT.

Agree,
they want to create something new, but chose the wrong direction.
Future for cameras like Sony A7xx.

judging by the video device not only performs image stabilization, but also increases the overall contrast and black level. Science fiction :)

Almost all the lenses are slightly darker than similar from Canon,
that does not diminish their other advantages of course.

Wedding photographer: New models in DXomark rating:
87 Nikon D7200
87 Canon EOS 5DS
70 Canon EOS 7D Mark II

I own old Canons, but I think that Canon should to do something before simply disappear from the market, because Nikon makes great cameras.

@brendon1000 I don't use autofocus, because I use Canon crop only with fisheye lens. I have FF for other things, portraits, etc. (another one FF for fisheye is too pricy/heavy for me)
I'm talking that I have no choice. Canon has lower dynamic range.
and sky on landscapes are oftern overexposed.
Please compare 5 years old middle Nikon (for ex 5100) with modern top Canon 7DmII? Which will be better in dynamic range? That because I already bought Nikon fisheye 10.5mm and looking for a body for them.

On article The new Canon 35mm F1.4L II will be a thing of beauty (226 comments in total)
In reply to:

Wedding photographer: If Canon made the same quolity lens in the more compact and light design it will be more interesting for prime 35/1.4 lense I think, because
35/1.4 is not only one lens that can exists in the photograpers bag and each 180g adds to the overall weight.
low DOF can easily blur the model's eye at 1.4 (please see sample N14) and 35II can't help there.

but Canon prefered to win DXOMARK raitings, it is good only for marketing and for low percent of people how realy need highest sharpness.

35 F2 IS from other product category.
Manual Voigtlander 35mm F1.2 weighs only 490 grams, place for perfection is not yet fully exhausted for Canon.
New Canon 35L is not a option it is a replacemnet of existend product and by weight it is inferior predecessor.

steelhead3: how is the battery life with that high resolution EVF?

it may be it is good for EVF, but not when compare with classic DSLR, Canon 6D+50/1.4 can take near 2000 frames per charge, I checked it several times during wedding days, I think DSLRs Nikon/Sony are able to do the same.

Why they don't offer kit with 22mm, it can be compact & fast kit with convinient focus distance.

Wedding photographer: Yesterday I bought an old Canon 5D body for 300$, I have 50 & 85mm lenses for it.
I'm reading about this new 4/3rd Olympus and can say that Olympus is better in every aspect than the old 5D, except photos.
Full Frame is amazing!!!

the point is m4/3 can be directly comparable with modern mobile phones.
Olympus has good background in films cameras. I don't understand why they are wasting a time.
Write in google images "Olympus 55mm f1.2" and see the differences with images in this Review.
Very sad by this.

Wedding photographer: Thank you for the samples, very interesting!

I have a Sigma 24-105 f4 art, it is very convenient for taking pictures of children's matinees and studio. I don't use it for weddings, because f4 is not enough for that. If 24-35 lense will be accomplished with second body +85mm it will be very versitle solution.

On the other hand, for example Canon 28/1.8 may not be so sharp, but three times lighter and has better bokeh (rounds sharper) on F2.

28/1.8 is pretty fast, other canon standard fixes like 50/1.4 is far from ideal too, but have better bokeh than Sigma :) I have sufficient sharpness with Sigma 24-105 when I need it.
but bokeh quality is a main feature for me, voigtlander 40mm 1.4 + sony a7 will be next :)
