I don't think there are any issues with the camera. Just wondering if anyone has been able to get a replacement somewhere
-
I need it for a trip in 2 weeks. I also don't want to mail it in and risk having it lost or damaged.
-
I will have to find another way to get the part.
-
I understand. However my camera is still.u der warranty. Nikon could - but won't - send me the piece with double sided tape. For them to ask me to mail it in us nonsensical.
-
Unfortunately I have lost it.
-
Actually it is just the little rubber piece in the upper center right of the picture rather than the door itself.

Nikon will not send a replacement bumper for my D500 still under warranty. They want me to send the camera in. The bumper has never stayed in place. I see some on eBay but am unsure of the ...

Thank you. I have a 80-400G on it's way to me. I am excited to try it out.
-
Thank you. Single Point AF is checked. I checked them all and it works. You are brilliant!
-
There is probably a simple answer. This is the procedure I am following: AF-area mode can be selected by pressing the AF-mode button and rotating the sub-command dial until the desired setting is ...

Thank you for your comments. Certainly the 180-400 with TC would be the *perfect lens* for us if it was not so heavy.
-
Thank you. I will look it up.

Thank you for your concise first hand report. If we were to get a 70-200, yes, the F4 would be the one. We have tried the F2.8 version and unfortunately the focal length is just too short for ...
-
I just used it as a benchmark as it is heavy enough. We are trying out the 70-200 f2.8 now but it is just not long enough. Really don't want a teleconverter. I appreciate your suggestions, thank you.
-
Yes, I did. Great suggestion, thank you. However trying to keep the weight at 3.5 lbs.
-
I had meant to say 80-400 4.5-5.6G. I immediately tried to correct it but it was too late. Sorry for the confusion.

We hope to see a successor to the Z9 (Z8 which is the brunt of countless jokes 😂) and may add it to our arsenal. However the 500 is too good to ever part with in our opinion. In the meantime we ...

Thank you very much for sharing your experience. It seems our 500 PF with the addition of a 70-400 may be the winning combination.
-
Thank you Lance. Your results are outstanding. I am going to try this lens out.

Thank you. I appreciate your advice. There are so many accomplished photographers on here with differing opinions. I respect them all and will carefully reread this post when it is concluded.
