Tremendous IQ for the size. Goes everywhere. Wish it was 24mm like vIII. No Auto-ISO in M and defaults to 1/30 before ISO increase. Dumb and fixable if Sony would update firmware. A bit awkward to use.
There is almost nothing I don't love about this camera. Only the smallish focus area is frustrating. Otherwise, it's fantastic.
Great camera unless you want to use it for sports. Fantastic stabilization capability and JPG quality. It is infinitely configurable, which can become sort of a pain. Beyond the overly complex menus and controls, I find it can be challenged by very high contrast scenes.

Well, I didnt expect to like this lens as much as I do, but the rating is lower than my other lens in this range, the Tamron 24-70 2.8G1. For event work, I LOVE this f4 lens, however. It's sharp enough and the extra range vs. the 24-70 is surprisingly nice. I rarely miss the 2.8 since I'm carrying the 70-200 2.8 VRii on the other body, so I use that for the dreamy shots. It's not as sharp as the Tamron, and it also seems to be a little slower in focusing. So it's stuck on the camera due to range and enough speed to make it flexible. Not great, but a solid go anywhere lens.
