@fferreres, There is one left, I just used it today for a short session, some vignetting at infinity but overal great for portraiture. You should contact the creator. His name is Rodion a great...

@M43Hero I will dm you as I can't attach anything in the comments unfortunately

Roland, I see a defined purplish reflection, so thete is some coating for sure, but I can't say whether it is a MC. Compared to coated versions of Jupiter 3 these blow it out of the water in terms...

A 10x cheaper and better rendering options can be found in hand made conversions of russian military optical finders, these are 50mm f/1.2, 8-lens Sonnar scheme (The 50mm f/1.5 Sonnar with an...

It is excellent news that we can use the 43 and 77 lims on FF Sony sensors. The 77 lim with eye AF sounds really nice for those who know what great portraiture takes.

This is a film all about colour. Shooting a naked black on white background makes no sense in displaying or testing Kodak Gold.

@PredatorsPray, It is obvious that there is different contrast for different cameras' jpg previews or converter profiles, what I am saying is that this is not a RAW level contrast but a consequent...

Err...comparing 3:2 to 4:3 images seems a hard guess to Zach?🤣 The authore wrote of this click-bait: "The biggest difference I noticed from new cameras to old ones came with the contrast in the...

I tried all possible combinations of camera, focus and lens settings with various subjects, distances and lighting. Phase detect always works well, contast always makes just the same very small ...

Yes, indeed - the medium setting is usually more reliable than the small one for me too. But with Contrast AF non of them works for me unfortunately.

That's really interesting, can you please give some more details on how this actually works? Thanks!

I was thinking of using cdaf for slow pace portraiture but mf will do just fine and will be the most accurate option anyway. I guess I have an issue with the camera's cdaf or the lens itself.
-
My E-mount lenses focus with no issues up to f/8 and at f/8 and slower they become less accurate with higher miss rate. They do function but the focus is often off target. So this is probably my ...

I am using af-s as the only option and phase detect af works fine at any aperture while contrast af doesn't work at any aperture. It is a good thing that I can use it at least with pd af and mf.
-
But wouldn't a lens issue lead to problems with the phase detect autofocus? The exif seems complete and correct.
-
Thanks! In my case there is obviously an issue as I tried in good light and contrast at various distances and apertures. The focus moves only in the direction of mfd at the same small steps at ...
