I recently bought an a7rv and a Sigma 105mm f/2.8 DG DN Macro, my first auto focus E mount prime to go with it. I am very happy with the combination. I have yet to verify the Sigma will support ...

Thanks for this. Outside of the heft of the Loxia, what's your feeling of how the two compare in IQ? Right now my MF kit consists of the Voigtlander 21/1.4, 40/1.2, 180/4 APO Lanthar, and the Loxia ...

Even though I can have my pick of Nikon F bodies (a camera I lusted for when I was a kid) for less than a hundred bucks, I realize that ship has sailed.

Entering the marketplace on the heels of the fantastic modern Voigtlander APOs the 90 landed with a thud. On introduction I was very interested in this lens, going from my experience with an older ...

Anything new on this? I am considering the Sigma 105mm Macro.

For me it is cheap, small, wide, and sharp. I really like my 24-105, but when Sony comes out with a higher res a7c I think I'll have to get it with this lens.

How about the Voigtlander 21/1.4 or the 35/2 APO? Or any of the other extraordinary manual focus lenses available, both native and adapted? https://phillipreeve.net/blog/lenses/sony-fe-lenses/

I think the OP is more interested in what a satisfied a7rii user needs to make the jump from rii to rv rather than what it takes to buy everything Sony comes out with.

42 mp Better viewfinder < $2,000

Honestly, if they would introduce an a7c with 42mp and an improved viewfinder I'd buy it right away. I might even go for 33mp mini a7iv. I'd like a reasonably priced backup to my a7rii in a smaller ...

My favorite Nikkors are the 28/2.8 AIs, the 55/3.5 Micro and especially, the 105/2.5 AI. I never cared for the 200/4 AI/AIs. The 180/2.8 ED is a fine lens, it's just a little too big. Although the ...

I'd get an a7iv and a 24-105 and put the rest in the bank. You'll have a better idea of what you want/need in a few weeks.

See what's available used on ebay and do some research. Lots of older heavy duty tripods cheap.

Some interesting results in this FM poll. https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1769232/

I've found that my 28/2.8 AIs, 55/3.5 Micro, and 105/2.5 AI do very well on my a7rii.
