Looks like a great idea. Would love to see an in-depth review of how well it works in workflow.
Great that Nikon is coming out with this. Nikon will have a solid lineup with great cameras at all price points (as opposed to another manufacturer I won't name-starts with a C).
Great camera for video specific uses. For me, not at $3500. Maybe $1200.
4thnebula: A what kind of mic? Sounded like lab mic. Would be helpful to post what and where to get.
Yeah, I looked it up. I am sure he said Lavalier mic (Lav). I am searching for an external mic so several reasons including what he talked about. I am going to first try an on-camera one since I will be close to the camera.

Great news. If DR is up there too I'll be getting one.
Great to see Tamron is coming out with this and the other primes for FE. Hope they can do the same for Canon RF.
Like the idea but needs to be modular since 2 GPUs is overkill for me.
This is great. Sigma and Tamron would make sure Canon EOS R takes off and provides we Canon R users as high quality less expense alternatives. A situation that works out for all concerned and hope Canon realizes this benefits them a lot.
Agree completely. All APS-C sensors < 32 MP are history. They were top once but progress move on.
Excellent camera. If it were 32 MP I would consider it. Great that Nikon is expanding its Z mount to APS-C.
Good news!
No Pencil no upgrade!
4thnebula: My guesses: Tamron 75-210 f2.8; Tamron 35mm f1.8; Tamron 45mm f1.8; and Tamron 85mm f1.8. I would prefer a 40mm f1.8 instead of the 45mm but will take the 45mm. It will be great to have the full set: 17-28 f2.8, 28-75 f2.8, 75-210 f2.8 and 45mm f1.8. With the Sony 200-600 that is all I will need.
Yeah, I agree. Maybe the 85 is a 24. Either way I suspect I will be getting my wish and I can go full Sony.

I see no IBIS. Will DR be just as disappointing?
I totally look forward to being able to have one of these. When I can get a 12 TB 2.5 inch SSD for $350.
Looking forward to NAS like this with SSD storage. Can't wait until I can afford the SSDs.
I appreciate that Canon came out with this lens. Seems useful. I will be keeping and using my EF 35 f2 IS until that version is made in RF. Also looking forward to an RF version of the 40mm f2.8 pancake.
I like the RF mount and innovative lenses like the upcoming 70-200 f2.8 IS.
Concerned about their comments at the end regarding transfer of IS data. I am looking for IBIS so I can use high quality non-IS primes.
Also, look forward to Canon's video on how the new quad pixel sensors will use technology to maximize DR beyond all other manufacturers.
