I suspect that way more people are willing to fiddle with a phone app than a camera menu. It is (becoming) the default device interaction interface.

@EXkurogane .. this can easily be a major version increment if Nikon does semantic versioning. The interface and how the camera operates has changed.

Also modern lenses are designed for the glass that is on the sensor while old lenses are not - the sensitive part of the film lies bare.

This will even effect modern camera systems when adapting...
