I do both. I am sure the D500 is better than I am at either task ;)

Thanks! Yes while the 70-300 was out the D500 showed up. To add to the fun I guess I have to recheck it on the D300s too, if Nikon fixed something maybe my correction on there is no longer needed. ...

Why would a D500 NOT take nice landscapes? Sure the best lenses on a FF might be a bit better, but then again a medium format would be better yet, right?

My 70-300mm needed some correction on my D300S to focus perfectly. Maybe 3 or 4 units IIRC. The VR died, so back to Nikon it went. Meanwhile my D500 showed up.I have not got around to really ...

Wow - a bit of a surprise. I thought I would be able to see the diff easily.

I agonized over this forever and finally just went and bought one. IMHO I have what is likely to be the best APS-C DSLR ever made. I have a D60 and D300s as well, the lenses and flashes all work ...

FZ50 I quickly sold an FZ-50 I got back in the day. Some people don't mind, but I went nuts with the feathers. My old D60, which I still have, was my main camera back then and shares the same ...

Noise reduction usually is also feather reduction. Could be worse, some of the small sensor cameras make a mess of feathers even at ISO 100.

I used to shoot Ektachrome Infrared. I got some truly amazing photos with it.

I tried for a month or two and failed. I now have a used one that seems like it is brand new and has a 6-month warranty. You can go grey market still, just pray it never breaks.

I will give that a try too. Thanks!

I have a brand new (to me) D500 and was wondering the following: Are there any DxO Photolab presets that are the equivalent of Nikon photo settings like standard and vivid? So far I have got the ...

I use my Nikon 70-300 AF-S VR for birds. I did not realize I could use an AF-P lens on my 300 when I was shopping.

Well the AI does that for you!

Cats and dogs to test on will be the next step. Test shots with the 18-140 of the powerline insulator across the street show what seems like razor-sharp focus, so likely no fine-tuning needed. Now ...

It is here! :) :) Besides for missing the little rubber cover over the power port, it looks brand new. Cover is ordered, it was missing in the photos on Fleabay, so I can't really complain. Battery ...

That is what I was thinking with "sky replacement". Sooner or later you'll have bird replacement and girl replacement too. Wow, I had no idea your wife looked like a supermodel and getting a photo...

Well I know how to do that. It isn't hard, just time consuming. My 18-140 and 18-55 are fine at 0, but the 70-300 needs something like 3 or 4, at least on the D300s.
