Brian Wadie: no mention anywhere of the warranty period and whether they will offer the option an extension . Also, can you find out if this lens will be repairable, unlike the 100-400 which is non-repairable, has to be replaced under warranty and means the owner has to essentially treat it as a disposable item should a problem occur after the 1 year warranty expires (as mine has). I find this very poor compared to the way that Olympus treats its customers, providing a 2.5 year warranty on registration with an optional 3 year extension on payment of £99. I am holding of any thoughts of buying this or the 200 f2.8 until Panasonic provide clear information that the situation is being rectified

Non-repairable!? I had no idea. What's Panasonic's excuse about that?

BostonC: Internal zoom--that's awesome, esp considering it's a 200mm tele w only 13cm in length. Expect the street price will be down significantly one year from the release.

It says that the lens extends ... unfortunately.

Holscen: Is it possible to use manual focus lenses from Nikon or Olympus on adapters and benefit from the stabilisation?
Thank you

Yes. Although some Olympus legacy lenses would vignette on the Fuji's.

armanius: @DPR staff - can you please add aperture, shutter speed, focal length, ISO, exp comp, and film simulation used to the sample gallery photos when viewed through a mobile browser? Thank you. Keep up the great work!

I see a frame counter, full screen option, share and exit. That's all there is when I'm browsing using Chrome in a S8+. There's no drop down for me with additional info. What are you using?

armanius: No blackout EVF during continuous shooting? Like the Sony A9?

@Richard

Thanks for the quick reply Richard. I just read somewhere else that there is a blackout using the 6 fps with mechanical shutter. But the blackout is so quick that it almost seems there is no blackout.

I wasn't going to get it ... But now ... Was hoping for additional PDAF points to fill the sides of the frame. I guess that will be on the XT3.

Bummer. Was hoping that the GX9 would be a G9 in a rangefinder body.

In reply to:

Steve Paradise: Have owned the M1 II for six months and tested a G9 for a week. I am a bird shooter and my standard lens is the Oly 300mm f4.
I found the Oly AFC performed better than the G9 with the 300F4. And while the EVF on the G9 is a bit larger the Oly has better clarity and brightness at the standard brightness setting. I cranked the G9 EVF to the max and it was still dimmer than the Oly with less clarity. I am also pretty sure the Oly has better battery life than the G9 . The 300mm F4 is a power hog.
For BIF after some months of use my keeper rate has improved dramatically . I have found the 5 pt AF pattern works best in AF-C mode . I would say my keeper rate for BIF is equal to the 7DII w/100-400mm II but it took some practice and some slightly different settings to get to this point.

Steve,

I've been trying to understand when to use the 5 pt vs 9 pt zone focus. Can you explain? Thanks!

Allison-

You may want to check the buffer info. I believe the EM1ii's buffer is larger than the G9. Thank you for the article.

armanius: In all fairness, the idea to have these photos is to have a memory of not only the location, but yourself in the location. So what if thousands have done the same pose on the same spot? The other thousands wasn't you.

The amount of angst that it causes some in this forum is actually more entertaining than the video itself. Destroying monuments, icons and the nature is a concern. But getting worked up because someone wants to copy what someone else does ... time to take a chill pill.

With all the firmware updates, the XPro2's C-AF should be as good as the XE3 and the XT2. So why hasn't DPR updated its review to reflect that, and instead, DPR keeps repeating the original review's criticism of the C-AF? That is misinformation.

ozturert: This phone is more expensive than S8 Plus in Norway. Is it really worth it? And Note 8 is only 100 Euros more. Is Huawei really worth the cost? I am thinking to upgrade my S7 Edge to Note 8 but probably will wait for S9 now.

If you want to have fake bokeh, go with the Mate. I have the S8+, and I love it. I just wish it had the bokeh mode like my Huawei Honor 8 did.

Thanks for the info. I guess the manual control is "faux" then. I had no idea. Thanks!

Peptobismal must be sold out! The amount of heartburn caused by a silver award is burning up!

Given that no one has complained about the Fuji XT2 not being a part of the 4-way comparison chart, I will do so on behalf of all Fuji lovers. C'mon DPR, where's the XT2? :)
