Havanai: Saw this in the "Best Photo of the Week" challenge. Love it. You get my vote. Lovely composition and it's an image well-seen and captured.

I am lucky to have this view from my window.... So anytime I see beautiful light I grab my camera and take a shot...
This kind of light I only get in winter around the solstice, when the sun is low and sets early, sending its last rays along the valley while the rest is in the shadow.

(unknown member): It's nice but perhaps another time of day when there is less shadows might be better.

I totally agree, the light is too harsh in this photo.I should try it in winter when the sun comes from the same direction around the sunset.

RuthC, you mane me curious. I did an image search with google, and indeed, the photo is older as I found the same image on dreamstime.com, where it was loaded in December.

Indeed, I do not think it was taken on the 24th, as this was mostly a rainy day in the Carpathians.
This photo is taken at Balea Lake, in Romania, in the Southerh Carpathians.

I would love to see this technology in a small tiny waterproof camera. Something to take with me on ski/bike/trail running trips.

Good point. I think that most submissions (including mine) fit in the category "Science and technology". For sure, it is not possible to have technology without science.
